Dear CompWiz,

Just a general question, why do some real media files download and save, while others you can't save? Do I need to upgrade to RealMedia Platnum or something?

Is there anyway of being able to save the files, that well, don't save?

Confused, at SD.net

Dear Idiot at SD.NET
Its because certain Real Media Files like Certian Quicktime Files are not designed to save, Rather they are designed to Stream off the Web-site

So basily you big bloody idiot, Depending on the server you may or may not be able to download

There are programs that record certain sections of the screen into an avi file. Maybe you could use one of those to save a realmedia file?

Here's one

However it makes this annoying thing in the corner but you can remove it. Just look up hypercam serial code. Sure it's illegal but you are ripping a realmedia file anyway, so why not? I won't post it otherwise wong will delete the thread.

Here's another

I don't think it adds audio, so you might have to record it seperately and add it later

For adding audio- http://www.rpgtsukuru.com/rtk4/avimaker.html

Oh but read this: http://www.hyperionics.com/hc/faqs.asp#PlayOverlayRead the whole thing

John, thanks for HyperCam, but do you also have this annoying trouble of recording the audio?

Pretty much anything that can be streamed can be captured to permanent media. It's only a matter of how and what to use...
