Yesterday we reported to you that a trustworthy source informed us that actor Liam Neeson was either signed to star in the new BATMAN movie or closely circling the project. Today we heard from a second source -- and again, one that is known to us and whom we trust -- who tells us that Neeson is confirmed to be starring in BATMAN: INTIMIDATION GAME.

On top of that, this second individual tells us that the part Neeson is playing in Christopher Nolan's BATMAN is a villain!

Unfortunately, we don't know the name of Neeson's BATMAN character, so it could be anyone. Characters rumored to be in David Goyer's screenplay include R'as al Ghul, Jonathan Crane (a.k.a. The Scarecrow) and crime boss Carmine Falcone.

Neeson is currently working on Ridley Scott's KINGDOM OF THE SUN, playing the father of Orlando Bloom's character. He will next be seen in Bill Condon's KINSEY, playing the famous behavioral scientist who broke ground by studying the sexual practices of human beings, due out this fall.

One final thing: our source swears Neeson is signed, sealed and delivered. All that awaits is the Warner Bros. announcement.

meh. another one? well, they have ra's al ghul in it. hopefully it doesn't suck and turns out halfway decent. though you'd have thought they'd have learned the lesson about keeping batman villains in a single movie down to as few as necessary. . . .Ra's al Ghul would honestly be enough.

Remind me to avoid Kingdom of the Sun, if I have to see Orlando 'Wooden Plank' Bloom in anything else, I may be forced to find him and teach him some facial expressions using more creative methods...

Oh no not another one. Haven't they fucked up the Batman franchise enough?

Does Liam atleast play someone that lives in the end? I swear, every movie I've seen him in, his character dies.

The script is supposed to be pretty good. So hopefully it doesn't become a total fuckup.

Didn't his character live in K-19: The Widowmaker?

I can't help but see that as an ER doctor with a scalple against a guy the a lightsaber....

If he was Batmman, then atleast that would be a breakforth in continuity, but who would be the villian?!
I mean Scarecrow could be played by fucking...*thinks*... Orlando Bloom and no one would know the difference!
Pssh, no one could stand againt Liam if he were Batman, let alone a Jedi...

If they're putting Neeson in it, it definitely looks as if they're trying to get some class back in the franchise. It's been missing it since Batman Returns.

Not just Neeson. The other names bandied about have been classy.

Hm ... I'd previously heard that Christian Bale was going to be the next Batman.

I think his character is also alive at the end of "Merlin"

Bale is the next Batman though.

Can't we all just forget about Batman & Robin? Or is this one of those "doomed to repeat it" things?

That movie was so cheesy it was funny as hell. Reminds me of that time on the Simpsons where Bart and Milhouse were watching that rerun of Batman.

"Luckily, I had my Bat-Carousel Reversal Spray!"

"Is there anything yuo don't have in that utility belt?"

"Tolerance for crooks like you, Clown Man!"

Who's Kinsey?

Oh, and on-topic, Christian Bale will kick arse as batman - if his performance in "Equilibrium" is anything to go by. Who's the villain? Ras'ghul (or whatever)? Apparently he's got a sexy ninja girl as a daughter. :o  :P PLEASE let it be so...
