Well this is my first post. And as anything goes in this forum my first awe inspiring words to you will be:

Enig.

Now then, which Sci Fi knowledgable person can tell me from what Science Fiction series that is from.
Will definitely be imnpressed if my random mumblings get a reply.

Glad to be accepted in, have been hooked on all I can read of this site since I found it!

Red Dwarf. Spoken by Lister. Episode "The Inquisitor." Short for "Engima."

I thought you wanted a corset, or trench coat? Or something. :? Do you want a corset, with a trench coat, with season IV in the pockets? :)

yeah, but the DVDs are a fraction of the cost of the corset.

I'll buy them myself if they don't turn up at my party.

It is too late for me.... you don't know the power of the Star Destroyer website....
Actually the first person to say "Enig" is Kryten but you got the right episode, series and reason so I think I can let you get away with it. Well now people have got me curious about these goatses...

Strictly speaking you didn't specify who said it first, you just wanted a series. :P

Besides, Lister goes: "Enigma! Enig - Enig!" Or something. I remember Lister making a fool out of himself more than Kryten getting his face smashed in by the Inquisitor. :D

Impressive. Flaming here has taught you well... :P
I liked the Inquisitor... I'd love to see the Red Dwarf stuff against Star Trek and Star Wars stuff.

Welcome. It is always good to see another dwarfer. I hope you enjoy it here.

I am in the process of writing a Red Dwarf Voyager fanfic, a teaser first chapter is posted in the fanfics section, I am about halfway through the next chapter.

<insane rant>
There should be a law that newbies should just start posting in interesting threads, instead of making these "look at me, I'm a n00b" posts.

Welcome to the board. Enjoy your stay, don't feed the trolls, etc, etc, etc. 8)

Oh yeah, and don't forget to read the Announcements forum, which has handy-dandy links to all the rules and regulations and other useful information all should know.

Or just make one thread for the n00bs to introduce themselves in. *shrug*

But how then would a random n00b make his or her mark?

Admittedly they don't do it anyway... but... threads like these have some purpose... insane anti-n00b rants for example.

The problem with such a thread is that it could well degenerate into a chatty sort of thread with people inflating their post counts in a spammy sort of way. One could, if they really wanted to, make the newbie thread much like the venting thread in the HOS, where it is periodically locked and deleted though.

Generally by just posting and showing that they can be a useful and productive member of the board. If one makes enough insightful and meaningful posts, then they will be accepted as an upstanding member of the board. If they make a lot of useless spam posts, they'll be remembered as little more than spam kings. If they make a lot of trollish flamebait, then we'll hunt them down and cut their genitals off.
