I predicted to my mom that the sniper would strike on monday....

well, he struck at a Home Depot in Tysons Corner, VA at around 10PM

Someone needs to put a cap in this idiots ass and be done with it. I do not want to pay taxes to support him while he is in jail...

Who says they'll catch him? If he's smart, he won't get caught. The police need him to make a mistake.

There was no shooting on the weekend again. Do you all think this is important ? Im almost wondering if the shooter has a weekend job or something.

All major highways in area for about 25 miles now shut down hard. ALL vehicles being stopped and drivers asked to exit for check.

Traffic jam extends for miles on I-66, Rte. 50, I-95, I-395, I-495. Bridges into DC are blocked and drivers being inspected. All offramps blocked.

I wonder why someone would do such a thing? I think we should give the area's cops a lifetime supply of donuts if the sniper is caught. That'll motivate them.

He won't. He gets a high off of these. He will get bolder and bolder. The Home Depot shooting is his boldest one yet. There was plenty of activity, and he shot at someone in the worst possible setting. There were cars and concrete posts everywhere. He sent a message to the police that he is skilled. He will continue to escalate untill he fucks up and someone spots him. The only question is how long.

FYI, his most recent shooting victim happened to be an FBI agent. The FBI now has a vested interest in nailing this fuck, he killed one of their own.

Interestingly I just read that they believe the weapon being used is a Steyr Aug. That should make car searches a bit more likely to locate the shooter. The nation is crawling with 5.56 weapons but the Aug is not very common.

Indeed, after the 96' assault rifle ban the Aug is one of the hardest to attain (legally) weapons.

Of all things I think the latest killing ensures he'll be found. He killed a woman who works with the FBI, now thats not killing a cop but its the next best thing. I would not be suprised if he is cornered and found dead by .308 impact to the left and right testicles after a REAL sniper scoped in and saw him make a "threatening" move.

To some people, anything with a clip is an "AK-47". I have heard people describe Nation Guardsmen carrying AK-47s. But the fact that it looks like an assault rifle rather then a hunting rifle (which people will call assault rifles, but they won't call AK-47s) will make spotting the guy much easier.

Its a good thing this guy isn't using something like an M21 or M40, he would likely have killed everyone he shot, and could do so easier at longer range.

If the general public in MD were armed to the teeth the death toll would be far, far, higher as a result of every NRA loonytoon pulling a spray-and-pray near every shooting. They might, with a huge dose of luck, kill the sniper eventually but not before mowing down a few hundred innocent people who just happened to be standing in the wrong place when a few clueless morons emptied their magazines on full auto.

The terrorists (I assume they are terrorists) were close enough to people so that they actually saw what they looked like (dark-skinned) and what their weapons looked like. They would have shot at them and their truck. Out of all the times they struck, you don't think a few citizens could have shot them? And like Master of Ossus once stated in a previous thread, if citizens riddled their truck with bullets, it would be much easier to locate. Right now the only thing that makes it stand out is a non-working tail light.

Needless to say, with the populace scared shit now, people would be alert and ready to defend themselves and others with their own weapons. And hundreds of people? Are you an idiot? These terrorists are striking in sparsely-crowded areas. And massive amounts of people would have to engage each other in a huge gun battle to cause hundreds of casualties. And why would people shoot at anyone else that isn't holding a big rifle running away to a truck or driving away in a truck?

I wonder how many people this sniper'll down before he's stopped. If this thing is over soon enough, maybe people won't start betting over this.

He's using a Steyr AUG? With kills at what was it, 800m? Through the head and chest. This guy is either damn good or he ain't using an AUG.
