I've seen that before. I don't think it's fake. It certainly doesn't LOOK fake. My only reaction to the video is this: Why didn't the guy grab the wheel with both hands? Isn't that a standard reaction?

that cant be fake, he went through the back window.

So is he dead or what? And WHY is there a camera in the car?

Dumbass trailor trash + asleep at the wheel + no seatbelt= roadkill.

Car was probably a rental. I think putting in a camera is becoming a new thing with rental cars, so they can see what, exactly, you've done to it.

But don't quote me on that.

Edit: Also note the time countdown to time of impact. It looks like a camera system that records all day long, but tosses things out after a certain point to avoid getting overfilled. So it registers an impact, saves the ten seconds of data just prior to that, and keeps recording for roughly another ten seconds.

Possible use: to determine if there was any driver error, perhaps.

The situation is a bit messed up. It's obviously broad daylight out, but the guy is clearly dozing off. The first impact seems to be on the left side of the car, as though he drifted and hit a barrier of some sort, then kept going. Due to the brightness outside, I can't see what exactly is happening, but it looks like he managed to get flipped upside down or hit some low-hanging object. If he got flipped, it's no wonder he was thrown from his seat, rather than, say, out the windshield, plus the way he lands seems to indicate, to me, that it's possible that the car is upside down, or perhaps on its side.

In any case, he a dumbass, first for driving without a seatbelt, and secondly for driving while exhausted (or drunk, or both).

Lets hope he never drives ever again.

Either that, or he could be a cab Driver (he certainly looks the type) I wonder, however, If indeed he died.

If he did, it probably wasn't from that car crash. He probably got some brusies, lacerations, maybe some broken bones, but unless he broke his neck, I didn't see any life-threatening injuries on him. The worst he probably got was a concussion.

Looks like his head was sucked into whatever hit the car like it was a magnet. If he survived that he's really lucky.

First hit was on passenger side. From there, it looks like the car flipped on its side. What sucked him down was gravity. If you look closely, it's quite dark there, and his head didn't go through the window. He's all hunched over, etc. We hear him start to say something when the video ends.

it's hard to tell if this is set up or not. however you have to wonder why the moron would have a videocamera in his car.

If it was set up, it was still remarkably stupid, since the guy in the car had NOTHING to protect him whatsoever.

Chances are it was a rental car, and that the rental agency put in the camera. That, or it's a new feature in all cars to determine fault in auto accidents. It's not like the camera is some sort of radioshack deal, it's linked to the car itself. It can tell when the collision took place, plus some other numbers which seem linked to the car's status.

First off, like I said, that's NOT a store-bought camera. It's part of the car. Secondly, I find it difficult to imagine that even a bunch of dumbasses risking their necks wrestling would risk a car which is worth a shit ton of money. You can walk off pain, you can't walk off a car payment.

are you sure it's not a store bought camera? any way of checking it to confirm? not saying it might not be real, but it's also possible it's staged as well. people have done stupider things before.

The watermark is a pretty big clue. The fact that it manages to remain stationary while the car is being flipped is another. Also, check the numbers at the bottom. It flashes a warning symbol at 0 seconds, the exact point of time of the impact on the driver's side. I'm not sure what FG and SG stand for, possibly Front Grade and Side Grade, to measure the tilt of the car or somesuch.

Also, note that the camera is right where the rearview mirror should be. Chances are it's built in, not just strapped to the rearview mirror, given that it only moves at all when the roof gets crushed.
