"Unfaithful"

I just finished watching this film- the one with Richard Gere, Diane Lane and that annoying ponce Olivier Martinez. Don't ask me why I watched it, I didn't think it'd really be my thing- in fact, it's not my thing, and fuck did it make me uncomfortable. I don't know if anyone else here has seen it, but basically Diane Lane is happily married to Richard Gere, and for no reason starts an affair with Olivier Martinez (who she meets on the street). Cue sickening scenes of her fucking him repeatedly while she's going on about her married routine.

Eventually, Richard Gere finds out, and in a half-sick rage kills Olivier Martinez (he splits his head open with one a "snowy village" he bought for his wife, which she promptly gave to Olivier Martinez, the bitch ... see what I mean?). Immediately after killing him, the answering machine goes off and it's his wife, breaking up with Olivier Martinez. Anyway, Richard Gere cleans up really well, but eventually Diane Lane finds out he killed him. Basically, the film ends with the couple falling back into love and trying to decide what htey're going to do. No retribution for the murder, nothing. The thing that made me uncomfortable was that when Gere killed Martinez- I kind of enjoyed it- in a righteous retribution sort of way. That they didn't get caught in the end didn't affect me at all.

Anyway, random rambling off. Last movie I'd expect to watch, but fuck did it provoke a reaction.

So....where the sex scenes any good? :D

I haven't watched it and it was only curiosity about the nudie scenes and what actually happens in the story, since critics seem to like Diane Lane in the movies so much, that had me even remotely thinking about watching the movie.

Right now I'm leaning towards filing it in my "never plan to rent" file. It's slightly different than the "never plan to watch" file. The "never plan to rent" file means that if I had cable and it came on I'd probably watch it while the other files means that I would turn the channel as soon as it came on. :)

Star Movies will be showing "Unfaithfull" here this sunday. Based on the commercials it seems to be a fairly good movie.

Of course you had no objections to the murder. The Oliver Martinez character was a shit, I found it impossible to have any sympathy for him.

Blah. While there is some.....interesting sex scenes in it, the movie made me mostley upset with all the characters. In that, I guess, you could say that they made a good movie in that the characters were some what believable enough for me to despise them.

The husband was a weak piece of shit. He knew almost immeadiately that his wife was fucking around and did nothing. At the end when he finally did something, it was long and drug out. I would have punched the fucker as soon as he opened the door. But even way before that, I'd have dumped the bitch.

The wife was just a whore. She shit away a marrage (that by the movie had no appearent problems) so she could bounce up and down on this young guys cock. Whore.

And the guy she fucked, he was just slime and I actually cheered when Gere killed him, though I expected a better way to do it.

I'll probably go out of my way to avoid it now, because I can't stand movies with really stupid characters.
