"Unfaithful"

I just finished watching this film- the one with Richard Gere, Diane Lane and that annoying ponce Olivier Martinez. Don't ask me why I watched it, I didn't think it'd really be my thing- in fact, it's not my thing, and fuck did it make me uncomfortable. I don't know if anyone else here has seen it, but basically Diane Lane is happily married to Richard Gere, and for no reason starts an affair with Olivier Martinez (who she meets on the street). Cue sickening scenes of her fucking him repeatedly while she's going on about her married routine.
Eventually, Richard Gere finds out, and in a half-sick rage kills Olivier Martinez (he splits his head open with one a "snowy village" he bought for his wife, which she promptly gave to Olivier Martinez, the bitch ... see what I mean?). Immediately after killing him, the answering machine goes off and it's his wife, breaking up with Olivier Martinez. Anyway, Richard Gere cleans up really well, but eventually Diane Lane finds out he killed him. Basically, the film ends with the couple falling back into love and trying to decide what htey're going to do. No retribution for the murder, nothing. The thing that made me uncomfortable was that when Gere killed Martinez- I kind of enjoyed it- in a righteous retribution sort of way. That they didn't get caught in the end didn't affect me at all.
Anyway, random rambling off. Last movie I'd expect to watch, but fuck did it provoke a reaction.
