New trailer for the movie Troy!

Well it isn't actually new, it's just the Japenese one, but you see new stuff in it (including the rivalry between Achilleus and Agamemnon).

They also seem to be keeping the political realities correctly portrayed (Agamemnon using this war as an excuse to further his own power), and I am not sure but there might be some godly intervention coming into play (we see Achilleus hugging some girl, one assumes the same girl that Agamemnon took from him, which sparks Achilleus' anger and leads his mother to interceed on his behalf with Zeus)!

Okay I'm excited!

Oh yeah, we don't see Sean Bean as Odysseus, but he does some of the voice over.

The trailer can be viewed here. Be warned though it does take a while to download (it is a slow server apparently), but yeah, I can't wait for this! :D

A part of me wonders...but a part of me wants to see it because dammit...it's the Trojan war, and it has a solid foundation for a good tale.

That and seeing Orlando Bloom play possibly one of the biggest pussies in mythical history is something I can't pass up(sorry Paris was a coward on many, many levels)

Shit yeah, if it wasn't for his big brother Hektor (palyed by the ever cool Eric Bana), I would wonder if he had enough back bone to stand up straight ... let alone be able to lead Troy in its defence. Perfect casting choice for Paris if you ask me.

Although they had better not fuck it up for 'Bloom appeal' because I will be majorly pissed off if they do.

LOL...yep.

Especially in even physical contrast.

Though this means big fight between Bana and Pitt...if done right should be damn sweet.

Ugh...right with you there. Had enough of screeching from women from Pirates...and fuck screeching from women in ROTK, I mean WTF is his appeal...wait I don't wanna know.

And why is there a big city in France named after him? :D

Is it because he's a lover and not a fighter? :?:

Picture the scene as Achilleus chases Hektor around Troy surrounded by his "AWE-FUL" shield covered in flames. This story has needed the Hollywood treatment for a long time, and I can't wait to see the special effects of that fight.

I always thought that would have fit better with one of the two Ajax.

They forgot two big-name actors to have in the cast: Scott Bakula and Craig T. Nelson.

Seriously, I would go to the movie once for each of those names, not counting the first viewing.

As long as Orlando has enough screen time, I don't care :D

I'm sorry, but I can only think of The Simpsons' Greek mythology whenever I see this stuff now. Skinner's mom is Helen of Troy and says, "This is the face that launched a thousand ships ... in the other direction!! HAH!"

Hehe, loved that stuff.

But seriously, I can't wait for this to come out.

That part with the armys crashing together gave me chills. I wonder how, if they do, they will add the gods in it.

And they better have Achilleus' army with him.(I think there were 50 of them...) And it had better not suck or I'm burning down Hollywood...

There was a two part movie recently produces. "Hellen of Troy". Great movie, I suggest you history buffs check it out. It didn't have the impressive graphics that Troy has but still..

He'll always be Poida to me. :D

Another Simpsons reference: When Troy McClure wanted to Marry Selma to advance his career; "I could even get my own fragrance, Smellin' of Troy."

The gods did indeed play a pivitol role in Homer's Iliad, but in typical Hellenic fashion they were morally ambigious as the rest of the cast (which was a main concern with the movie, there were no defined 'heroes' and 'villians'). But would it work having the Olympians in the flick, or would it come off cheesy?

Well they got the 1000 ships part down, it would be unimaginable if they didn't get the army scales correctly.

Do you want to know what I am waiting for? See my sig.
