Shaving how do YOU do it?

Okay time for the big question
How do you guys shave your face?
I saw an episode of Queer Eye, and in that the victim prepearing for his date or whatever shaved upwards towards the face.
That stunned me, I have never shaved that way, I always start at the ear and shave downwards and continue to the next ear.
Also I ahave never used any froam and stuff, just take a shower and shave while the conditioner is having effect.
So now how do you do it?

from bottom to top, since the stubble is facing down. this way i can get as much of it off with one stroke if needed. i've just never had the same results shaving from top to bottom.

Bottom to top, closer cut.

I have pussyface. that is to say, my whiskers are steel, my skin is sensitive like sunshine and kisses. I HAVE to shave against the grain, otherwise I get 5 o'clock shadow at noon. Usually, though, I only shave traditionally (With a blade) Before dates and junk. I will typically use an electric, which is less effective, but MUCH less painful, and I don't need a blood transfusion after I shave with it. (with a blade it looks like I went 12 rounds with a dozen angry weasels [cookie for the reference]) I also use roughly a metric assload of shaving cream to prevent nicks. (doesn't help)

Is the dozen angry weasels thing from the song Albuquerque by Weird Al Yankovich? Amd assloads are different in metric?
I sometimes forget to shave for a month or more. I'm just lazy like that. It doesn't grow all that much. Ironic, given that Dad used to have a big old beard and still has a great big moustache.

A metric assload is equal to .56 English assloads, or close to the English Double Wide Assload (DWAs).
On topic. Start on my left from the ear down. Work the chin, from chin to throat, then from chin to right ear. In that order. Then I double back to make sure everything is smoother than a babies bottom.

I wish I had that problem, I'd be looking Amish after a month. I shave from bottom up, starting around the adam's apple.

Shaving for me:
Fresh out of the shower, no lather and starting top down.
Finish up with some bottom up strokes to get a smooth shave.

Sounds like you've got ye old facial hair too. I have trouble growing facial hair on my face and chin, but I get it all on my sideburns and throat under my chin, so if I let it go, I'd look like Goodman Gil and speak with thees and thous.

I go down on the ear and upper lip, but go up when I'm working around the jaw. But I always start at the ear, unless my sideburns just aren't noticable, then work my way to my jaw and chin, then finally my upper lip.
And I use dry shave only if I do it every day and there's not too much hair (my family's grows in rather slowly for some reason). I tend to only use cream/gel when it's grown a bit and I have to really work to get it off.

It's really dark and grows like a weed, but it comes in patchy on the cheeks and somewhat lopsided around my mouth. Also it curls if it gets longer than half an inch or so, and that I can't stand.

I shave by turning the razor on and not turning it off until I'm done.
Basically I just start with a vertical motion from my neck to my chin, then whatever.

Gel, Mach3, in every direction, top to bottom, then bottom to top, then in every other possible direction to get the closest possible shave, generally in the shower as its the only place I remember, but I'm getting pretty good at not cutting myself by shaving blind, although I do miss bits every now and again.

Regular shaving cream, top to bottom, multiple passes if necessary (usually the chin and moustache), don't press too hard, I use a Mach 3 too.
I can get away with shaving only every couple days (great for that grunge look)

Oh fine. Since I want to go on living anyway, I won't bother.
You win. Again. But one day, one day...

I shave both ways. Top->Bottom to get rid of the rough and then bottom->top to smooth it out.

Once a week, weather I need it or not.
And since I need it about every two days, I do the top to bottom technique to start with and switch to the bottom to top to finish off any stragglers.

Equipment: Gell, Mach 3.
Method:
1. Splash hot water on areas to be shaved.
2. Lather up gell and apply on the designated areas.
3. Beginning at right sideburn, downward strokes. Do this for the entire area that is to be shaved.
4. Upstrokes across the entire area to get the shave even closer.
5. Cold water to wash off.
