Please don't be an ass...

I am actually a member of the FCA, and my sister is the president back at my old high school.

If you want to debate on something like creationism, fine, have at it, odds are the person will agree with you anyways, but don't just go trying to stir up trouble or being a jerk. :?

Oh, I am never an ass... though 2 years ago this sam speaker accused the entire scientific community of being engaged in a massive conspiracy against christ

However, he went back on his normal topic and talkd about epistomology, and the nature of truth. The bastard! His sceduled lecture was creationism, and he changed it last minute.

I actually coundnt argue wth most of his stuff, the bloody bastard. SO I started a debate on homosexuality and gay marriage after his presentation. He basically based his arguments on the steeotypical "gay lifestyle" and i simply had one response

"Define the 'gay lifestyle' And try to paint with a brush that is a little less broad" he couldnt do either and resorted to the ex gay movement...

This is fascinating, Aly- how did you get the opportunity to debate this guy?

Ah yes, the ex-gay movement. How much I have to say about religious ex-gays. Where to begin:

The basic argument of ex-gays is that homosexuality is evil, and that exorcizing that evil makes you that much closer to God. Well, a person is entitled to their beliefs, and if a person thinks that their sexuality is inhibiting their enactment of morality or way of life, they have every right and reason to actively change it by whatever means necessary. But under no circumstances should any person, ex-gay or otherwise, look upon a fellow person and call him or her inherently evil. Just as ex-gays had a right to choose their lifestyle, so too do gays who do not wish to change their sexual identites.

Summary: Go ahead and become straight. Gays won't call you evil for doing so. But should you turn around and start calling us evil, you're objectively even worse off in the eyes of God than you thought you were when you were gay.

There is one word I hate more than the word "tolerance." That word is "intolerance."
