Ok, here is the Sniper Identity Poll. Your job is to vote on what you think the sniper will be when discovered. That way, when this asshole gets either caught or violently killed, we can all see who was right, and the inevitable "told you sos" can be dispensed quickly and easily.

I belive that he's an independent. Something just seriously pissed him off. I do believe him to be unstable, but having enough mental faculties to do what he has so far, it's probably a psychotic streak. And it's easy enough to aquire illegal weaponry, if you know the places. Given how he's done so far, he's probably bright enough to know a few of those places.

I have long mantianed there are more then one so I'll go with will not be caught short of act of Bob(Ie a Guy named Bob )

That would be interesting. I'd like to see if any form of discrimination would occur to models afterwards.

Even being me, I had the same thoughts about the possibility of it being a woman...

Supposedly, the sniper might have a white van. A white van was seen driving recklessly shortly after two of the shootings nearby the sites. I think they might catch him sooner or later.

Timothy McVeigh was a domestic terrorist. But I think that when people say "terrorist" nowadays, it is sort of implied that they are talking about Islamic terrorists rather than domestic terrorists.

Personally, I think it's a McVeigh-style terrorist. The tarot cards seem to be indicative of a typical serial killer mentality, not Al-Quaeda. And most of the victims were dark-skinned, which would also seem odd for an Al-Quaeda operative who can pick and choose his victims.

My guess, he's probably a late twenties white male who just got fired from his job, probably as a security guard or something. If it were ex-military I have a feeling he would have killed a lot more (that's what soldiers are trained to do, after all).

I think if it was al Qaeda, or some other terrorist organization, we would be seeing these shootings on a far greater scale; it would be going on in quite a few major cities and basically make people terrified to carry on with their ordinary lives. This guy is a lone nut, I'm sure.

Seriously, I agree with Wong and the dog-avatar guy. Probably a right-wingy whose had plenty of practice sharp-shooting. Nothing real special, and probably an overall typical genetic waste.

Come to think of it, I think we can also rule out the possibility that our sniper is a fundie; a good Christian would NEVER have anything to do with tools of Satan like tarot cards, nor would he blaspheme the Almighty Father by suggesting that HE was God.

Actually, he's alternating between wasting blacks and whites, leaving most
of the other minorities alone (the indian cab-driver had American
flags all over his cab - that's why he got killed)....

The suspects supposedly appear Middle Eastern. Going by that and the fact they know how to avoid the police well, I say they are terrorists that lived here for a while just like the ones that lived here for a while before hijacking the planes on 9-11.

I don't think it's al-Qaeda or any Islamic fundamentalist. For one thing, there's not enough "bang" for the "buck". al-Qaeda -esque groups look for mass deaths and/or property damage. They'd be more like storming into heavy population centers with machines guns firing and bombs. The way the sniper evades capture also seems contradictory to what they do: suicide or one-shot missions. While one could argue that Islamic terrorists might be retreating to attack once again, I seriously doubt that they are employing such tactic as it's rather "cowardly". Also, the tarot card thing was definitely way out of wack for Muslims. Fundamentalists wouldn't not defame their God by writing "I am god" on a pagan object. Because of these things, I do not believe it's an Islamic terrorist attack. The snipers just seems more domestic than anything else.
