What movies or series are there where the bad guys win and the good guys die?

Numerous ones. This is like asking has there ever been a bad ending in any story medium? The answer is bloody obvious.

Ok, then let me change my question. What are some movies where the bad guys have won?

Glory and Sparticus are examples off the top of my head where the protagonists all die at the end.

Twilight of the Dark Master. not exactly a win for the bad guy, but not exactly a loss either.

Not Eva, although some would erroniously try to say so.

It's certainly not a happy ending though.

The world ended and everyone ended up in a giant ocean of tang. That's kind of a loss.

Perhaps, but Complimentation was rejected, Instrumentality failed, and the single Perfect Being was not created. While it is indeed not a happy ending, SEELE's goals were not achieved. So the "bad guys" lost.

1984 ends in a total, absolute, crushing defeat for the protagonist. In fact, I'm hard pressed to name a story in which the bad guys do better.

how about Clockwork Orange? it's got a rather vague ending as to who winds up the winner.

Yeah, but the book ends with an older Alex recognising the errors of his reckless youth, though it was unavoidable.

I actually quite liked that movie myself.
All supernatural/mythological/Judeo-Christian without gratiutious Jesus fellatio and overly campy or hokey or cliched "spiritual" stuff.
I thought it was a fine film and to the point. Quite enjoyable.

There was a really good six part British TV movie awhile back. The sucker left me hanging at the end of every part, which was one per week IIRC. Was about an alien invasion of modern Earth. The ending was most certainly a win for the bad guys. I actually found the movie to be really good, but also sad. I'd watch it again anyhow.

Isn't that
Invasion: Earth or something similar? Ended with the nuclear bomb flash, right?
I remember when Sci-Fi aired that about four years ago. I liked it, but agree that the clifhanger is a real downer.
