that's. . . .just. . . .bizarre. it almost looks as though it could have been photoshopped though. at least that was my first impression.

Looks like some just got three frogs and welded them together. Very curious

Considering that it looks more or less full grown, it appears that it has been successful in obtaining food and avoiding predation. I wonder how it coordinates its movements / actions.
"Ooh, a fly, I want to eat it."
"No let's be nice to it."

Coolness. I remember a good 8 years or more ago there were reports and pictures of a two-headed snake and a 3-headed tortioise too. The tortoise had 2 heads poking out of it's shell and the third one inside the shell. IIRC it had 6 legs too.
The wonders of hox genes.

Well, BBC is generally reputable... but I have to agree on this, it does look very photoshopped. Still, two-headed animals are not unknown (i've seen several pictures of two-headed snakes, and even a real one preserved in wax), so I would say that it's a distinct possiblity... although the third head (the big one furthest back) looks like it's just eye and nostrils? Still, I would have to say, don't be too hasty to disregard it... there IS the possiblity that it's real!

Amphibians are very geneticallly fluid. I dont' dispute that the growth of three seperate heads and brains is possible.
*shrugs* mutations happen.
-edit ^^ that was IB --

Strange. I've seen and touched a two-headed frog once, but one with three heads? Woah.

It has six legs. The article says so, or did you just look at the picture?

woops... my bad... still, all i could see was three, maybe four-- i guess the rest were under it?
Idea-- maybe this is some kind of Siamese twin? If it has six legs, that's two too many... i figure as an embryo, the three didn't quite separate right? they would've been genetically identical otherwise, basically just frog triplets... am i correct?

Addendum: I looked again and you're right. Sorry...

Sometimes humans come with two heads too. It's called Dicephalus.

Three? Ha. Try seven or eight legs.
I've seen pics of frogs like that. But this is the first time for one with three HEADS.

The article's title wrote:'Warning' over three-headed frog
The article wrote:The creature - which has six legs - has stunned BBC wildlife experts who warned it could be an early warning of environmental problems.
Eh? What environmental problems? What warning? *rereads the article* What the fuck? Did the writer just throw that in there to sound cool? He didn't even quote anyone about it!
Oh and freaky picture too. It really does look like three frogs are huddling together.

He probably didn't explain it cause the problem's an old one and everyone's known about it for years.
Stuff like pesticides and all that bad stuff get into the rivers, cause mutations, etc, etc, yaddaya-da.

It says that the experts warned that. Besides, I thought it was common knowledge that when there are environmental problems, that fucked up frogs can be a sign of that.
What I wonder though, is if two of the frogs have sex, would that be sex, or masturbation.

My first thought was that somehow three eggs "melted" together.

Were it a siamese triplet frog, it would more likely have twelve legs.

I await the day when we see a frog with seven heads and 36 legs, along with eyes dotting parts of its body.
