Just saw "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" or El Mariachi III

Violenice: Very

good straight out action film, nice stunts, good FX, liked the flashback work, and the stunts. Not for realism, but a very good ass kicking action flick.
and Johnny Depp as the crow/blind gunslinger was a good bit twords the end.

oh, yeah, if you have a movie to review, and warn us of some potentially bad stuff, please do, and post here.

I didn't care for that movie much.

I had liked Desparado quite a bit but just didn't get into Once Upon a Time In Mexico. I guess there just weren't enough gun fights like there were in the previous one.

Johnny Depp's character is great in this movie though.

Not enough Salma Hayek either.

Mickie Roarke is a trip.

Willem DaFoe is a decent villian.

Antonio Banderas is still good but I don't think they show him as "El" enough, not like in Desparado. I think he looses too much screen time to Depp's character.

I would recomend renting the DVD though. The movie is decent but I got a real kick out of the extras. A couple of things by Robert Rodriguez that were nice. One part is how they filmed this movie in a very short time with little money and they used digital cameras. Rodriguez is now firmly sold on using digital from now on.

I actually liked it for its lack of realism.

lack of realism is an important element in a good action film.
