A few guys have mentioned recently how much they just love getting head, waxing poetic about the beauty of having sex while exerting no effort whatsoever.

This caused me to wonder about the straight guys who've said this. Would these guys be able to tell the difference between a (clean-shaven) man and a woman giving head? What if the straight guy was blindfolded, and had a few different people take turns giving him blow jobs? What if he wasn't told that he was going to be sucked by women and men, and what if he couldn't tell the difference? Would that happen, or would he always know when it was a chick and when it was a guy? And what if the straight guy enjoyed it from another guy more than from a chick? It's easier to know what works well and what doesn't if you yourself have the equipment to test drive, right? Isn't it possible the guys would give better head than the women? And how would that guy feel then when he found out the one he enjoyed most was from another guy?

Assuming this is serious I think some men would be able to tell, depending on how good their senses are (they're blindfolded, but they can still hear, so maybe audial cues? Also touch - chicks usually have long hair, well in comparison to guys anyway, so maybe you can feel the girl's hair tickle your thighs while a guy's hair won't - but then, this is a big reach...).

It would be hard, and I'm guessing it'd be a great deal of luck, but I suppose you could tell. If nothing else it would be a 50/50 chance lucky guess.

No, no, this would be scientific, so extraneous touching would not happen--the straight guy would be kept from touching the person because obviously that would give clues, hair would be pulled back, any disctinctive masculine/feminine smells eradicated (yeah Febreeze!), etc.

I guess I forgot to come (pun intended, har har...anyway) right out and say it, but what I want to know is how difficult it would be to determine the sex of the BJ-giver if you take away all identifying factors other than mouths, tongues and teeth.

If that's the case then I doubt you can determine who's giving you a blowjob. Seeings as it's the identifying factors that would enable anyone to identify their partner, this would be somewhat impossible no? Like I said before, it would be a 50/50 chance lucky guess.

Although I don't think many men could tell during such a scientific study, men's jaws are structured differently than women's jaws. Forensic anthropologists have achieved about an 80% success rate in determining gender simply from the jaw bone, not even including the TMJ.

Actually, I think blowjobs are overrated. While they do feel very good, the feeling of total passivity bothers me. I suppose everyone has a different definition of masculinity in the sex act, but for me it means that I have to take an active role. In order to really enjoy myself, I need to grab ahold of her hips and start driving.
