Dentists

Ok, so I'm in the dentists, and I like the gas--I have trouble relaxing when this guy's swinging a drill around that probably does more RPMs than your cars engine. So he puts the gas mask on me, standard procedure...

Half way through the drilling I finally start to lose awareness...and the weirdest thing happened. I felt everything they did twice, heard everything they said twice; like an echo. When I breathed, when they talked, when they yanked on my tounge--all twice. It was the screwiest thing I've ever experienced. Has this ever happened to any of you? I didn't think the gas did that to ya...

Never been gassed before, so I wouldn't know. Only ever the novocain needle for me.

Drugs can cause different reactions at different times because of varying body chemistry. Medication, narcotics, alcohol, possibly even food chemicals can react with other drugs to create effects neither have on their own.

nitrous supposedly affects the brain, causing giddiness and light headedness. (as dentists use nitrous/oxygen mix for their gas), and it's not entirely unreasonable to experience some type of hallucinations or delusions while under its influence, depending on the individual.

I assume it is normal, and the effect will go away eventually.

I've been going to the dentist for the past week. I just found out I have bruxism- aka grinding my teeth- when I sleep. So I can't do shit about it. Except getting a $650 splint to wear when I sleep. Combined with the bills used to reconstruct one of my (newly) damaged teeth (a small crack, the cracked part was drilled away and replaced) with resin (which I cracked off in my sleep a few days later), as well as miscellaneous fees, I'm looking at over $1,000 in dental fees. Goddamn highway robbery. And what's worse, today when I gave the Health Fund Card to them, they said that I wasn't listed as a dependent (even though I'm still a full time student and young enough) anymore. Fucking bullshit. I hate worrying about this crap.

Novocaine

And my bills have go out the roof last year because I had five teeth removed....and they considered it, cosmetic(yeah...pulling wisdom teeth is cosmetic  )

Nah, the shit they put in the IV is better. I got my wisdom teeth pulled, and there's a good 30-45 minutes after I 'woke up' where my mom and the surgeon said I was fully conscious and yet I have no memory of it.
