The Best CD or album ever is?

I havent bought a lot of music CD's in my life but I have heard quite a bit from friends and family. So far the only one I really felt was worth my money was "Hybrid Theory" by Linkin Park. I thought they did an incredible job with that one. On Hybrid Theory I actually loved over half the tracks on the disc (on all other albums I have heard over the years or bought, I only ever really liked 3 songs at best on each one).

Foolish question as far as I'm concerned. I think there are simply too many artists, styles, methods, what have you for there to be a "best of all time" album.

To be honest, when I first heard Linkin Park it was catchy. But after hearing a few more of their songs, it got trite. I mean, there's so much angst in their songs it could condense on a cold soda can.

Not to mention I've heard better music now, so Linkin Park is nothing in comparison. Just wondering, what part of Linkin Park do you like so much?

Rob Zombie: Past, Present and Future.

It's an awesome compilation of his greatest hits, and has a few new ones. Whether you're an oldschool White Zombie fan or really into the modern Industrial Rock, this album is for you! I heartily recommend it. Plus, it's really long and lasts the entire ride to work!

Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth.

It's hard to pick just one, but I think the best albums are those that could be greatest hits albums, even though they aren't. Two that I can't get enough of are AC/DC's Back in Black and Black Sabbath's Dehumanizer. Neither is with the original frontman of their respective bands, but both those albums rock so hard, it doesn't matter.

When I got it 3 years ago, I had never heard anything like it before, their sound, style and the lyrics were just amazing and I just felt that I could really connect with alot of what they were saying. Of course I have heard tons of other good stuff since then, and their second album "Meteora" wasnt as good but still, they did manage to crank out so many great tunes onto that first album and at the time I just really loved it. I still think they are a decent group.

Beatles I can understand. Rob Zombie I can understand. I can even see putting ACDC on that list, but Linkin Fucking Park? Linkin Park? Out of Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis... and you choose Linkin Park? Oh, I get it. A joke. Ha ha ha...

I have a few, but I'm going to say Elvis' "That's The Way It Is" album. I love it. Some great jams on it.

There are a couple of Beatles albums that I could go for after those two but it would be tough making up my mind.

My personal favorite is Hotel California, by the Eagles. But you have to admit that this kind of thing is a purely subjective judgement. Taste and opinions vary far too much, even within a single genre, nevermind among several, for it to be possible to establish a best ever album.

not really sure i'd have a single best, however one of my personal favorites is Ozzy Osbourne's Randy Rhoades tribute CD. there's some guitar riffs in that thing that make it worth buying alone.

Hmm... difficult, like Mike said, you'll eventually get sick of any album if you listen to it too much.
But anyway, my top 4 would be:

Muse - Absolution
My Ruin - Speak and Destroy
Nirvana - In Utero
REM - Greatest Hits (or whatever)

hmm...anything by Tool kicks ass, really. Especially Lateralus and Aenima. If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick Lateralus, becuase it's got Ticks and Leeches on it, which is probably my favorite Tool song.

So class, what have we learned today? Tool owns you.

EDIT: GAH, forgot to mention NIN. I think Trent Reznor's a genius. A very sexy genius.

Cooper Temple clause, either one of their albums are worth buying. Very good stuff.


But my Favourite band atm has to be Rachel Stamp, Oceans of Venus is probably the best album i own.
