Lenin's Body

Post by StarshipTitanic »

Why do the Russians keep it out anymore? Is he seen more as a liberator from Czarist oppression than the bringer of Communism?

Yes, and he's simply very important historically. The only thing that's going to remove it from display is when the body finally reaches the point that it degrees too much for further preservation, as it is they already had to spend several years doing the equivalent of a renovation on the on it. After that I'd expect they'd switch to a closed casket.

When they tried to move it, IIRC, there were a whole lot of protests and stuff.

And yes, I've seen it. It looked...weird. :wtf:

Have a very nice day.

If all goes well I'll be able to see the body before the year ends.

Is Stalin still visible?

No, Stalins body was removed as soon as Khruschev (sp?) came to power.

Lenin smashes out of his glass case and marches away like a zombie.
