Why do the Russians keep it out anymore? Is he seen more as a liberator from Czarist oppression than the bringer of Communism?

Yes, and he's simply very important historically. The only thing that's going to remove it from display is when the body finally reaches the point that it degrees too much for further preservation, as it is they already had to spend several years doing the equivalent of a renovation on the on it. After that I'd expect they'd switch to a closed casket.StarshipTitanic wrote:Why do the Russians keep it out anymore? No, Stalins body was removed as soon as Khruschev (sp?) came to power.Gandalf wrote:If all goes well I'll be able to see the body before the year ends.
