If any of you happen to watch tv and specifically KGAN's news you might recognize the woman in the article the link goes to. She was the class president of my high school graduating class.

I happened to notice her on the tube one time when I was back visiting my grandparents. It was kind of weird.

I don't watch television for news. :P

But what's this? Your grandparents live in Cedar Rapids? And you didn't call me? *crushed*

KGAN are such amatures when it comes to news. About the only interesting thing about them is that their broadcast tower fell over some years ago, which helped to explain why their reception was often so poor for a long time.

KCRG is superior in every way. :P

No, my grandmother lives in Iowa City and I don't think I've been back there since I got involved with this board.

I've been in the area twice in the last 10 years. Once when my grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer and then again for his funeral. So, even if I had started here already I was a little busy.

I'm supposed to be in Iowa City again this July. My dad and I are painting my grandmother's house, and then of course we have to see a bunch of friends/relatives  Who know's what else my mom will come up with. :?

KCRG is cool. They've been around at least as long as I can remember. They were definately around in the 70s.

KGAN is amusing to me because they must be owned by the same people who own a local ABC affiliate her in Tucson, KGUN. The first time I saw anything on KGAN they had some commercial that included some people from KGUN and it took a second for a wtf? to kick in. The really odd thing is that the two stations aren't affiliated with the same national network. The two stations even used to have the same web site design. It was pretty creepy.

Ever since I saw Tiffany doing the news I tend to notice people who put on a certain "newscaster" voice and smile much more. I wonder if it's something to do with the schools they go to or something. I can't say that I knew Tiffany but I'd seen her speak enough to just get creeped out by the "newscaster" version.

I knew they'd been around awhile but not that long.
