Considering the fact that the second coming of Brian is at hand, who's your favorite python?

John Cleese.

"There are some who call me...Tim?"

I know John Cleese went on to do some great things (Fawlty Towers) but I always had a soft spot for Eric Idle. It might be his voice.

WHY must I choose?!

John Cleese. "...with big sharp pointy teeth!" "What an excentric fellow", and he did Fawlty Towers.
Next would be Michael Palin, I loved Jabberwocky.

I thought Cleese was better as the Black Knight.
"It's only a flesh wound."
Though I thought Asuka made a great Black Knight in a video I've seen, and it makes everyone else feel awkward watching it.

It is odd and amazing that the first time I saw that ill-fated Asuka episode I immediately thought of the Black Knight and lo and behold, there was a video of that sketch with that NGE clip to it.

I believe the line is "This is an ex-parrot!"

"Hello I wish to register a complaint. Hello, Miss?"

"Whattya mean, miss?"

"I'm sorry, I have a cold. I wish to make a complain-"

"Sorry we're closing for lunch"

"never mind that my lad i wish to make a complaint about this parrot what I purchased not half-an-hour ago from this very boutique"

"oh yeah, that's the norwegian blue, what's wrong with it?"

"I'll tell you what's wrong with it. It's dead, that's what's wrong it"

And so hilarity enuses ...

"THIS PARROT IS - NO - MORE. IT HAS CEASED TO BE. IT'S EXPIRED AND GONE TO MEET ITS MAKER. THIS- IS A LATE PARROT. IT'S A STIFF. BEREFT OF LIFE IT RESTS IN PEACE, IF YOU HADN'T NAILED IT TO THE PERCH IT'D BE PUSHING UP THE DAISIES! IT'S RUN DOWN THE CURTAIN AND JOINED THE CHOIR-INVISIBLE! THIS ... IS AN EX ... PARROT."

My favorite line though:

"I discovered that the only reason that it was sitting on it's perching in the first place was, that it had been nailed there."

"Of course it was nailed there, otherwise it would've muscled up to those bars and Voom!"

"Look matey ..." *picks up parrot* "this parrot wouldn't "voom" if you put 4,000 volts through it. It's bleeding demised."

How many of the men here, when quoting Python, put silly English accents on?

Surely I'm not the only one. :P

I've always liked Graham Chapman.

"Ir's a dog's life- a man's life in the army!"

Not when I quote the Bruces sketch.;P

Bruce: Blimey it's hot in here, Bruce.
Bruce: Hot enough to boil a monkey's bum.
Bruce: That's a straange expression, Bruce.
Bruce: Well Bruce, I heard the prime minister use it. "It's hot enough to boil a monkey's bum in here, your Magesty" he said, and she smiled quietly to herself.
Bruce: She's a good shiela, Bruce, and not at all stuck up.
Bruce: Here's the boss fella now. How are ya Bruce?
Bruce: Gooday Bruce(Bruce), Hello Bruce(Bruce), How are you, Bruce?(Gooday Bruce) Gentleme I'd like to introduce a chap from pomey land, who's joining us this year in the Philosophy department of the university of Wallabaloo.
Bruces: Gooday!
Michael: Hello
Bruce: uh Michael Baldwin, Bruce. Michael Baldwin Bruce, and Michael Baldwin Brusssss.
Bruce: Is your name not Bruce?
Michael: N-No it's Michael.
Bruce: That's going to cause a little confusion.
Bruce: Mind if we call you Bruce to keep it clear?
First 47 seconds of the Bruce's sketch.

...Oh, god...you're right!

I once did the entire Coconuts/Swallows gag with my friends on the way back from the cafateria...because we had a pair of coconut shells (plastic ones) at hand...and we ALL used silly british accents.

No. I don't. I....

....oh.

Anyway. I voted for Terry Gilliam, for his off camera prowess more than anything else. Anmd because the funniest unsung line is:

"and so the monster pursued the knights through the caves until suddenly, the animator had a fatal heart attack"
