weirdest/grossest thing ever eaten?

you get the idea...
and me? hmm... just let me put it this way-- livin' in Africa, you meet some very interesting food indeed...
weirdest would definitely have to be termites. very good though, especially fried with a lighter! (incidentally, i'm not talking about the kind you find in big piles of dirt around trees-- this is the reproductive stage that flies about at night during rainy season in a lot of places). kind of a nutty flavor to 'em, if slightly soft sometimes... but hey, can't beat 'em fried up and salted!
and grossest? i'll only say that once i took a bite of something and thought i'd hurl... i don't know what it was, and i don't want to ever know!!!!

I don't think it's gross, but oysters certainly feel weird. I only ever had them once, though.
I'm fairly open minded when it comes to food. I don't think I've seen anything I wouldn't eat (except for McDonalds, but we're talking "food" here - maccas hardly counts
![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
). The grossest thing I've seen is a guy eat bugs. That was pretty freaky.

Truth or dare...I chose dare and had to eat a cup of oil, coffee, soya sauce, honey, chili and some other stuff I can't remember...but I do remember throwing it up a couple of minutes later.

This isn't much, but I've had Kraft mac and cheese with tuna, spaghetti sauce and salsa in it. It's only weird in the sense that one doesn't usually put these things together.

There was this stuff called 'Bawn' which my flatmate cooked once. One of our friends came in and ordered us pizzas because he thought we had raided the jellimeat (cat fud) for dinner.

A big nasty glob of my semi-congeled bloody booger-mucus.
...hey, I was young!

Same here, that is until one day I tried eating a fire ant and the bastard stung me on the tongue.
Other than that, I've eaten raw squid on a dare, and some insanely hot and spicy vegetable matter, I can even remember what it was, except for the fact that it was sitting in some co-ed's refridgerator for the better part of a year.

Chinese Moon Cakes from San Francisco. They sounded really tasty and I was really looking forward to trying one out, but when I took a bite and tasted it I gagged and could barely swallow the stuff. It tasted so goddamned bad my eyes were watering up as I spit the stuff out over the sink.

Chinese food from that restaurant that's under the abortion clinic.
Not exactly gross but gives me ideas.

A cherry tomato that was part of a salad.
It was a perfectly normal cherry tomato, but it just recomfirmed that I absolutely hated tomatoes.

Pasta with Ketchup.
A vile combination, and I only tried it because I was hungry, and it was the only thing the Youth hostel offered. After the first bite, I prefered to stay hungry.
Yuck.

Mudfish...yes...mudfish. Stuff smells like crap, litereally. Looks about like it, too. I'd also imagine it is a fair facsimile of the taste.

*groan*, yeah Chinese baked food in general is pretty nasty.
As for me, I'd have to say Marmite. Vile stuff.

When I was young I use to swallow pill bugs.
Other than that, well, hmmm... I guess it would be a pizza I cooked in a hotel and then fell cheese down on the floor, but I paid 6 bucks for it and was really hungry so I decided not to let it go to waste.
They apparently don't pay those maids to sweep.

It was, I am thinking, the strangest thing I had ever eaten when I was the young man and I took the first taste of the female flower with it's viscous love nectar. In the time since eating the first--how do they call it in your country? "kitty?"--since the first time I am eating that, I have many opportunities to have the taste and it is not so strange to me.

Ahem...
Well, I think probably the grossest thing I ever ate was once when I was really starving one Sunday, and the only thing left in the fridge was an elderly ham. So I take it out of the tupperware and find it coated with a sort of translucent sticky goo. I didn't know what it meant, and it smelled alright, so I just sliced off the part which was coated and cooked it up for consumption. There was just something odd about the taste, so I only finished half of it and threw the rest away.
Now, it wasn't exactly terrible, and it didn't really taste so bad, but it was just... weird.

I ate this little, tiny dried fish once. I didn't want to but my Auntie made me try one. I ate it, and it tasted like I was eating a dried up unwanted fetus.

Ewww.. You guys totally suck! Or maybe you've been going to crap restuarants, psssh...
As for me... i'm a pretty picky person, so its kinda of hard to chose. Food eaten on accident would probably an ant... yeap.. bitter.
Eaten "willingingly" would probably be durian...or this new cranberry + grape carbonated drink, just gross!
