She appears to have got Satanism a la hollywood confused with the controversially named religion.

You could have my copy, I'm not using it at the moment. Unfortunately, the binding's cheap and pages are beginning to fall out.

Aside from that, most of the important stuff in the book can be found at churchofsatan . com .

I guess she thinks it's more likely that you'll become a satanist than a Nazi.

It's just a mental thing- she can see how Mein Kampf would be used for research, as Hitler was a historical figure who didn't eat people's souls, while the Devil did. Sort of ridiculous, but that's the way some people think.

I think you're better off with the forbidden Necronomicon ($5.99 at Barnes and Noble), but if you HAVE to have La Vey's Satanic Bible, then you might try the following:

Take your mom to a bookstore.

Find a copy of TSB and of the Holy Bible (if she's Christian, otherwise the Torah and Qur'an should work, too.)

Open TSB to any random page. Ditto the Bible.

Press them together as hard as you can.

Note lack of flames or otherworldly shrieks.

You have just proven the TSB is not really Satanic at all, and is thus safe for research.
