I have seen it before but is it a Swedish commercial? If it is then very creative one.

As funny as this is I'm sure a number of people will actually think it's based off of fact.
And for those of you that think it is....

Of course, but that's not the only evidence to show that it isn't true. Snopes provides details in full.

They made a commercial out of an old chain letter? Or is this commercial just really really old?

Having served on the USS
Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) I recall seeing that email/letter back when it was still listing the Lincoln as the largest ship in the US Navy (early 1990s). I've also seen the letter with other carrier names (
Enterprise and
Nimitz come to mind).
The other problem with the message quoted on snopes is that the Lincoln was home ported in California through at least 1994 and then it moved to Washington. So it's a bit of a haul for the ship to get to Newfoundland. Either they went through a whole lot of ice or went around South America because Nimitz class carriers are too big for the Panama Canal.
Canada
The first time I saw the joke the date given for the Lincoln made it semi-plausible because the ship was doing pre-com on the East Coast of the US at the time and could possibly (although unlikely) have been up near Newfoundland at some point.
Now, knowing how full of themselves people can get when they think they are the biggest thing afloat I wouldn't be shocked if at some point that something like this had happened before.
I've heard versions where it's two ships fighting over who's bigger. A carrier or a super tanker.
