Stupid Criminals
How many dumb criminals have you heard of?
For starters, there was someone who held up a cashier, using a curling iron that looked like a gun. He was foiled when the cashier saw the cord coming from it.

There was the guy who tired to rob a bank with a stolen LAW. A Marine on leave tackled him after about 5 seconds when he noticed [1] the stock was not even extended, [2] the man was holding the weapon backwards.

How about the guy who reported to the police that his entire stash of heroin had been stolen? Well, since he didn't have it anymore, they couldn't convict him, but still!

What about those people that send videos of criminals stealing the they were growing to the police?
Once, there was a guy who went into a store, and talked with the cashier, buying jewelery. Then, he put on a mask and held the cashier up. A full physical description was able to be given.
Are there any criminals that tried to hold up a gun store?
Just as bad are those people who call the police for the dumbest reasons.

Huh?
Yes. A guy went in while a cop and three customers were inside, all of whom had guns. Ouch...Are there any criminals that tried to hold up a gun store?

My favourite was the idiot who went into a bank, demanded money, and had a really big bag for the money, so he put his gun on the counter and held open the bag with both hands.
Naturally, the clerk grabbed the gun.
I'm not kidding. It's in one of the Darwin Award slush piles; not a Darwin Award per se, but certainly an example of the sort of stupidity that deserves a quick death.

This is one that actually happened near where I used to live. A guy robs a carnival, and actually gets away with quite a bit of money, the problem is most of it's in quarters. His get a way involves swimming across a lake and into a secluded park on the other side. Weighted down he almost drowns before cops could fish him out.
Oh, and the Meijers I worked at was robbed by a blind guy who got away too!

This might not qualify as a real crime, but I always crack up whenever I see the idiot robber go into the diner filled with cops in RoboCop 2. LOL
