For a French project we have to try and spend some time around actual French people on the internet to improve our 'conversational' French, and then our lunatic teahcer is sending us to a chat-room for a test. So does anyone know of any good ones?

Not that bad then- mais 'souviendrais'? Never heard that one before- I assume it's 'will remember' but in a crazy-looking tense. Oh, and thanks YT300000.

I got banned for speaking English at a French board once. :P One post. Got slammed because it wasn't entirely in French.

'souviendrais' veut dire 'could remember.' c'est le conditional et aussi il faut dire quand l'on parle du propre future, ça n'existe pas...c'est utiliser seulement dans le sens de la grammatique; on utilise l'avenir.

moi, je suivre le français aussi. quelqu'un veux m'inseigner des mots on n'inseigne pas dans l'école?

mais, ça c'est moi.

btw, what's up with the reverse apostrophes?

Change the keyboard layout to "United States-Devorak," and the input language to "US International." Then, when you type ['], ["], [`], [~], or [^] followed by a vowel, you get an accent, [`][e] = è. The only downside is that you have to enter a space between quotation marks and vowels if you don't want an accent. It's very easy to type ït's all relative." This will also allow you to access other special characters using the [R-alt] key. [R-alt] [c] = ©, [R-alt] [,] = ç, [R-alt][z] = æ, [R-alt][;] = , etc. However, it does not make a shortcut for œ. You'll have to look up the code for that one, and then of course you will have to use [L-alt] to enter it in.

somewhat on topic, you might want to check out big-boards.com for a directory of french messageboards. they've got plenty of boards in other languages (major ones at least), so there's likely one on there somewhere.

Oui, same here. I'm supposed to be in Gr 12 French because my Gr 8 Teacher thought I was doing so well...Except of course, my Gr 9 teacher didn't teach me gr 11 french, so now i am swimming in my own incompetence. Everyone laughs at me everytime i mess up, so its not exactly an encouraging atmosphere.

Edit: What happened to my star? I WANT IT BACK DAMN YOU!
