We all know how we can hear our names across a room through a bunch of random noise and hubbub. But are there any other key words/names you can hear? For instance, I can hear the word "band" stick out like it was my own name.

Anybody else have any key words, or am I just that much of a band nerd?

lesbian seems to be a major keyword for me. as well as i'm sure a bunch of other SD.Netters on here.

My name, obviously. The names of my good friends. Any various airplane terms.

Not really. It depends on what I'm thinking about at the time.

I perk up whenever I hear words relating to Lord of the Rings or Star Wars...

When people say "bye" i think they say "Rye". Similar thing with Brian.

Depends on my thoughts... but I usually don't even hear hubub, I'm off in my own world 90% of the time.

How does bye=Brian? I can see the Rye one, but there's quite a bit of difference between bye and Brian.

Anything to do with guns, Star Wars or tabletop wargames I can pick out pretty quick.

I have a highly effective hearing. I pick up whole conversations without concentrating, even while in a different one.

Well my name's Ryan, so..yeah. I'm just a lazy ass and didn't explain it properly.

Various music terms, especially bands I'm fond of.

Damn near any perverted stuff, names of sexual body parts, any of my nicknames, and a crapload of other words will get my attention.

I can usually pick out stuff relating to Wars/Trel/LoTR.

I can also hear my own name.

It's usually my name that I first hear, or anything I am interested in or concerned about. Although I usually attempt to ignore them when I hear them talking about those things for some reason.

Porn, tentacles, lesbians...the usual.

Let's see, 'bondage', unique, sticks out, and gets my attention like nothing else. Other than that, 'slave' is uncommon enough that it still grabs my attention, as does 'leather'. My name? Feh, first off, I had about a dozen different names I was regularly called throughout high school. Secondly, I don't respond to any of them (except for 'Styx', and that's just because a girl I had a severe crush on called me that).
