How did you get the Umlauts? I have been trying to figure out how for a while.

I pressed the key on my keybord with the Ä on it. It can be found underneath the Ü and to the right of the Ö.

Seriously, I think you can just install a german keyset under windows.It´s bound to be tricky since german keyboards have a different layout but can be used. The letters have the same places except y and z being reversed but all the symbols (!"§$%&/=:;) are on different keys. And you have keys for ÄÖÜäöüß.

Unfortunatly I am in america and and in all likelyhood cant get a german keyboard

Not a keyboard but a keyset. You then just have to remember which keys are different. I used to use the english keyset on a german keyboard a lot in the early days of the computer, it´s not that difficult since most keys are the same anyway.

Well, you already got a more practical tip in the other thread anyway, so simply forget what i said.

Well I tied it and require the Windows 98(yes I am runnin an old operating system) and I no longer can find it, so...
