If you spray an Asiatic ladybug (the ones that bite, and emit a foul odor when threatened) with Windex or any other ammonia-based product, they start writhing in pain and yellow goo forms on their leg joints. This continues for several minutes, at which point the ladybug dies. This is only with the Asiatic ladybugs that have been invading the US for the past few years, and with no other insects to my knowledge.

Someone has to find these things out, it's like that chap who discovered that if you put a drop of alcohol on the back of a scorpion, it will sting itself to death trying to get it off.

@18: If they had invaded your house in preparation for winter and were now literally coming out of the woodwork, flying around and crawling on everything in droves, and stinking up everything they touch, you'd torture them too.
@Dahak: Not really, I just grabbed the nearest thing handy to spray them with and, lo and behold, they died. I then merely took note of what I used and its effects on them for future reference. Oh, and I put a few in a cup of ammonia, but that's beside the point. It still only took about 5 minutes of my time.

Those things are indeed agents of demons. They're actually driving the native red ladybugs to extinction, for Christ's sake!!
I'm all for destroying those sons of bitches any way possible.

Ugh, tell me about ladybug infestations. My apartment is home to an infinite swarm of them. They crawl into food, in between keys on my keyboard, and everywhere else.

Thanks for the tip.
