OK, now considering the vast array of fetishes and porn that we have seen do you think we have reached a point where people have just grown bored of your standard sex and are in search of the next fetish? Has the constant bombardment of sexual imagery and the ready access to porn made us sexual cynics. Are we experiencing a "been there done that" attitude? Think of this way in the 50's and 60's porn was far more underground so things like doggie style was the 'forbidden fruit' and our parents were far more satisfied with plain ordinary sex.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the sheer number of people out there into kinky behavior, I'm sure there's always been people into freaky shit but it seems there are more than ever.

I see that as not more people into it...but more people open about it.

For an immensely long time sex was repressed compared to say the times of the Greek and Romans.

Though the amount of fetishes is quite interesting, truly shows there is something for everyone.

Im quite sure humans have always had weird or creepy fetishes throughout history. Its just that now because of the somewhat more openess of the media, and especially the freedom of the internet, its just getting announced more often because people are becoming less afraid to talk about it.

EDIT: But to be serious, yes I think it's just a condition of the media and global awareness more than any particular absence of fetishes before all this, people may not have talked about them, but they were definately there.
