Well, here, in Romania, tommorrow it's the first day of Easter, in the orthodox calendar. Don't know really if it is on the same day with catholics and other christians, but I would like to wish a Happy Easter to all that take this event into account.

I'll be off in a couple of hours to my wife's parents and at midnight will take the ceremony at one of the monasteries nearby (more than 500 years old). Then, on Monday we'll all go to my parents. And hopefully Thursday I'll be back online.

Here the traditions are a lot stronger than in other parts. I'm not the religious type (I would say on the contrary) but try to explain this to the others around (and havethem understand you), so I have to comply. At least people are not fundies, as Romanians follow more the tradition than the Bible. A lot of pre-christian customs have survived till today, disguised under a religious cloak.

This I understand given how my mother follows certain Korean traditions.

And rarest of rare events, the Western churches and the Greek Orthodox Church are celebrating Easter on the same day today. (We use different calendars; this occurrence is rare.) Link

Time to buy an Easter 'Egg'- the double album 'Egg' by The Flaming Lips. Hurrah for Easter Money!

And yes, that was a bad pun.

So far, it's been a low-key Easter for me, considering the only things I've done so far was take a 6-hour nap after being dragged to church at 8 AM after getting 5 hours of sleep.

I personally prefer Easter Monday, something only Canada has, as far as I know. To me, it means an extra day off from school, and half price chocolate bunnies at Shopper's Drug Mart. And you all know the joy of decapitating rabbits...

We have it here in the U.S. too. I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday.

Due to Easter Monday, and then the Regional Drama Festival in Burlington (near Toronto, Ontario), I'm only at school for Tuesday.

Happy easter, everybody.
I'm still trying to identify some of the LEGOs in Zaia's pic.
A lot of them seem to be positively ancient...
Take the trees, for example. I remember them from when I was a kid.
Are those still in use? I very much doubt it.

Pfft at least you're not doing what I'm doing.

Thank you for a nice relaxing weekend...and a solid chocolate bunny.

Easter Monday...one day I shall see that day again.

LOL--hey thanks, AB.

Batman, I had those LEGO trees when I was a kid too. And since I'm positively ancient, I'm guessing they are too, so you're right on the money. :D

Horseradish. You're still in your twenties, which means you're in the prime of your life.
whereas I've been in my thirties ever since 1939, and therefore
Couldn't possibly have known those LEGO trees when you were a kid?
Shush.
*waves hand*
You will not remember this post.
