Im making this topic so we dont spam the other about moving to Canada


Why, of all the people in the world, do the British Hate their homeland?, in the news im alway hearing of millioons of epople moving away to plaves like Spain,France and of course, Canada

So what is it that makes us want to move? the weather?, the lack of jobs? or is it just the stupidity of the local councils?

Or is it the influx of Immigrants from the middle east? although they often fill jobs, that need filling, we always complain, but the fact is that we havent got enough people here to fill them ourselves, because of the mass exodus of the brits

So speak up my fellow Brits, Why do you wnat to run away?

The cost of livingis ofton caused by what goverment is in place, so its more of a cause and effect of it...

as for the weather, its only going to get worse, apprently when the gulf stream stops, we are going to Canada the 2nd

I think there's a demographic factor. The UK population is getting older, and the collective choices made by this aging society reflect this - compared to, say, the 1960s when the UK was the place to be, society's priorities are much more conservative. There is more of an anti-risk, pro-safety mindset, which does not appeal to the younger and more adventurous sections of society.

That and the weather.

The cost of living is a disgrace, I'm also going to be in so much debt at the end of Uni, I blame the government, I blame them for everything- and top up fees, don't start me on them.

No, I don't hate this country- I am quite proud of Manchester and where I come from. Alot has been achieved here.

Lib Dems will never get in, there might be '9 or 10' political parties here, but this isnt a democracy, we only have two choices, Blair's Labour or Howards Tories.

I actually quite like living in the UK. I'm a proud Brit, something that apparently makes me a ligitimate target for the IRA. Bombs didn't make me leave, expensive beer and shitty weather are part of the culture.

I don't, I love my nation, but I want to travel as well and live elsewhere for a while, maybe Australia or Japan or Germany.

And there's nothing wrong with the weather, it beats having constant sunshine or constant snow which is boring. Great Britain doesn't have a cimate, just weather.

One of my history professors was speculating about why Brits made such ferocious fighters. He listed the above, and said with those reasons, of course they'll fight like mad to get away.

I don't hate my country, and being over in the US makes me appreciate some of the things that went unappreciated prior to this, it aint perfect, but there we are.

Nothing wrong with the weather that global warming won't fix. The women are perfect (plus you wouldnt want to be insulting IB would you?), cost of living - well, put it this way, for the same price as I'm paying to live in halls in America with no food, no sink in my room and sharing with someone else, I can live in UK student accomodation with a room to myself with an ensuite and I can cook decent food for myself and still have stuff left over.

Vive la UK! But only after I transplant it to approximately the same position as Hawaii is.

I think the main things people don't like about the UK are:

- The Weather
- The immigration system which is currently looking like using chickenwire to hold back a flood.
- The government being retards
- The image that Blair is Bush's poodle
- the benefits system which is easily exploited by lazy bastards (and the afore mentioned illegal immigrants)

Its such a shame that the Illegal immigrants, thinks its all milk and honey over here...

We're Brits. We hate everything.
We may hate this miserable excuse for a country, but at least it ain't full of bloody foreigners, like everywhere else!

Well that's stupid and not even self consistent, if we were pissed off with life here, we wouldn't fight for it.

This is along the right lines I think, I hate it like I hate democracy, too many stupid people, but compared to the alternatives, it's still the best.

This is why we need the EBC forum, so we can sit around in safari gear, wearing white pith helmets and enormous moustaches (yes IB, this means you too ) and talk about the good old days when we could shoot servants and steal countries with flags whenever we wanted...
