Rather than the relief work done to date this year I begin my new job as a teacher at Bay of Islands College, Kawakawa, New Zealand.

Where I shall be (drum roll)

A science/biology teacher! Teaching, amongst other things evolution!! That hideous and shameful conflagration of facts and evidence!!! I shall help lead my junior citizens into a dark, terrible age of criticism and enlightenment!!!! Usher in horrors such as understanding and pen them in the cages of diversity away from the fresh fields of intolerance!!!!!

Muwahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahahahahhahahhahahahaha!!!!!

Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

And between you and me I think I've gone quite mad :.-)

A college lecturer in other words? Doesn't seem that bad, compared to what you'd have to put up with in grade schools.

Screw that, I feel really sorry for junior high/middle school teachers. That's the age when everyone's hormones flair, when kids are their most egocentric behavior, aggressive, and all the horrible things we think of when we think of teenagers.

College is just a name. The proper term is secondary school It's for 13-17 year olds.
You can go to 'college' all your life here. Some of it is Primary (5-12), some secondary (13-17/18) and tertiary (18+, university and so on).
