Attention AOL Users!

Some jackass has apparently told AOL's tech staff that stardestroyer.net is a spammer domain, because AOL has just started rejecting all of the E-mail being sent by this board. When I inquired, I was informed that this was due to complaints about spamming from their own members.

So, if you're an AOL user and you're wondering why you can't reset your password, receive PM notifications, etc., that's why. Complain to your AOL tech representatives.

PS. Their new auto-whitelist system rejects the domain because reverse DNS doesn't work on our IP.

What a fucking stupid system. They lock out SD.net without even investigating.

Probably World Church of the Creator, that group that invaded the board some time back.

Or DarkStar. Or Kelly Antilles. Or TK. Or that athletics group that invaded a long time ago. Or any other one of the myriad people this board's pissed off in its existence.

Well don't look here for a counter-attack on AOL or these guys; I don't do offense, only defense (and hence why I always lose in either football or RTS games... )

I'm not looking for a counterattack. And I have the same problem with RTS sometimes.

Except I lose on easy-mode.

I'm such a loser!

I kid, I kid.

I was wondering why all my E-mail from here kept going to my spam folder.

You know, I figure it might be interesting if one of our resident AOL users were to call up AOL tech support, tell them the problem, then threaten to leave if the issue isn't corrected. One thing ISP's are told to avoid at all costs is customers who threaten to leave, and with AOL bleeding users to MSN the way it has been, I could see this problem getting reversed rather easily.

I'm surprised they've even bothered to take action at all..

At Animenaton we've complained to them about AOL users spamming our forums and we've never heard anything from them. No action taken by them against the people whatsoever. Thats with a business complaining to them.

Yet they ban SD.net based on some individual shit complaining?

A fucked up world we live in...

Yeah, it is a bit strange. I remember the old Interplay forums where they had to just ban AOL completely because they refused to take action against spammers using them.

Its something we've thought of doing, but wasn't feasable given the amount of good users that used it.

Worst thing is that the IP's are dynamic, means we can't even IP ban them. Its just a case of dealing with the next one as it comes.

Its quite retarded from AOL to block everything that come from SD.net when they let shit from real spammers go trough,i looked if i could fix my mailbox but there is no option for accepting mail from this board, the best i can do is block spam but in some case i have to open the message to know where it from, and i will not risk it just to block it,the only choice i have left is delete them. :?

Apparently some members of the board are highly offended that I would name Kelly Antilles among the possibilities for this occurrence. I withdraw the statement.

This is kinda fucked up. Glad i switched the email in my profile to my Yahoo account the other week. Course the bastards at AOL just cancelled my account and i can't afford to re-instate it, but meh.

Now i think i may have to reedit my profile with my Yahoo email i used when i registered here.

What are the various email addresses that would come from sd.net? Like the one that notifies of PMs and the like?

It looks like AOL should allow them through regardless of the Spam filters if they are in your address book.

You have the option to turn the features of getting notifications when you receive a PM off under your settings. I don't see why it would be such a big deal. :?

Hm. Kelly Antilles may have..well, been very irate with certain members of this board but she left on her own accord. From my information, other trolls would probably be more guilty.

Needless to say this does not warrant any intelligence on AOL and its techs.. I still say we affirm that AOHell sucks, adding to an already long list of shitty things that company does. :D

We've made too many enemies to play the guessing game at who did this, it only shows how many idiots exist on the Net though.
