How close to election day will Shrubby start openly bombing Iraq in order to improve his party's chances at the polls?

If he's going to openly start bombing he can't campaign on that platform.
He has to do it and get his PR people working overtime in order to make it look justified and legitimate. That will take anywhere up to 3 days in the media.

Gee, lemme guess: Ya don't like George W. Bush. Well, don't worry about the second part of your paragraph. Any attack on Iraq will likely be no sooner than this time next year.

Your rant is moote. We are less than two weeks till election, any military campaign now would not directly effect the election. However, the attack will come probably in Nov if not Dec when the various factors benifit us. On top of that we are waiting IMHO, for the UN to make a decision one way or the other on the issue before we either go along with it or say "Fuck you" to them.
