I can't put this venting in a venting thread cause it deserves its own space.

You've all heard about Bono's visit to Canada's Prime Minister Paul Martin,whet pisses me off is Bono's attitude,thinking Canada is some kind of charity organisation we're in deep shit the nation's deficit is far from dropping to zero,and the jerk come here to ask Canada to give more money to third world country.

I got a message for you Bonehead go ask Shrubby to give money to third world nations and leave Canada alone.

Why is he a hypocrite? I know he's arrogant and full of his own self-importance. But hypocracy is a charge I haven't heard levied against him. What are the details?

My main sway of opinion came about when I watched an awards ceremony recently. (well about a year ago). He was shown pulling up in a nice long limosuine, sipping from champagne glasses, dusting down his lovely designer outfit and waltzing into the arena. An hour later, he's up on stage pissed shouting how our governments are a bunch of bastards (a true enough charge I suppose). His philosophy seems to be one of 'give and let live' - so why isn't he dishing the cash out?

Now, I've based my opinion entirely on this single event so feel free to show me that I am wrong and he has done the things I accuse him of not doing. One day I might then learn to research before I make these kind of outbursts

Nah, don't worry about it. My previous post was too lawyerish even for my own tastes. I don't like Bono either, but I simply hadn't heard anything about him being hypocritical before. But given your observation it makes sense.

He's actually a nice guy in RL. I met him once in Dublin. Top Fella and not the pretentious bastard he'd like people to think he is.

Well put. The US simply does not realise money does not compensate for all the lives lost during a war.

More along the lines of:

Someone explain to me how giving third world dictators 15 billion is going to be a good thing for us? All they'll do is squander it on shit they don't need, instead of things their people actually need, like medicine.
