Feminisim and Downright Bitchiness

Post by Trekdestroyer »

Everybody knows the stereotype of a typical feminist. They always are squeezing those stress balls, shouting at guys, enjoy kicking us guys below the belt, ect. They can be typicaly found in offices or other professions all over the place. They think we are stupid because we are guys. How do y'all put up with these people?

I don't, as I have not yet known a single person like this.

This thread is going to go over like a lead fart.

Well, you could try to use clever logic to show them their hypocrissy there by changing their views on Hardcore feminsim and men in particular.

But you would probably have an easier time trying to convince the United States to become a province of Canada.....

But seriously, my best advice would be to do your best to ignore them.

I've found that not watching television and not listening to shitty comedians helps me a great deal in avoiding the popular misconception of the feminist as a misandrist.

How does one put up with a stereotype or with the people who project stereotypes on to women in the workplace?

Since, as you yourself said, they're just stereotypes, I don't have to.

As a feminist myself, I don't display any of those traits, either.

That is not exactly feminism, at least from the philosophical point of view. feminists like Virginia Woolf or Cora Kaplan never advocated such extreme things.

Calling the above feminism is like accusing Nietzsche of Holocaust.

I prefer to call it "Personified Hatred of Men".

And no, I never met a PHoM.

I don't deny, that such bitches could exist, but I never had met one of them, so the point is moot.

That aside, Trekdestroyer had made a real good start with his first ten posts here. After threat necromanty, he switched to such topics like this here.
Makes a great impression, eh?

I will admit, I've met a few how fall close to the sterotype, but, in no greater percentage than I've met hardcore chavanistic assholes...so it all balances out.

I have met a few women who were undeniably manhaters who thought men were the root of all societies ills, but they weren't exactly like what trekdestroyer described. There is a difference between Feminazis and Feminists.

In total, most actual feminists who aren't angry young highschool girls I've met aren't close to that extreme, busying themselves with small silly things like "equal pay for equal work" and "corporate glass ceilings" rather than kicking guys in the crotch. No doubt their are a few choice male crotches they'd like to put a toe in, but not men in general.

You're pointing out a stereotype. Not all feminists are like this. Just like not all Christians will tell you that you're going to be burning in Hell, that not all Conservatives will harp against abortion, etc. By making a post like this, you're only making that stereotype worse. Don't do it.

Eh, I've met a couple of the Crazy Manhater stereotype, but I run into a lot of weirdoes. Sometimes I think I should write the Monstrous Manual of extremists.

Anyway, if you're running into one, just deal with them the same way you deal with anyone else who takes themselves far too seriously: mock their cause at every oppurtunity, and if they ever actually try to back their wacky opinions up with logic, you can probably crush them utterly. Same way one deals with fundies of all persuasions, crazy communists and militant vegetarians.

I think that was sarcasm... though I have seen no statistics for the "corporate glass ceiling" or that women in the us get paid less than men(if they did, no emplyer woud hire men)

Though, I am sure there are some employers who discriminate, I dont think that it is a systemic problem.

Actualy, it's funny for all the vaunted talk of the glass ceiling still existing, for men and women in the same profession with comparable experience and performance there's no difference. A lot of the oft cited difference is because of differing career choices women often make.

Quite a lot of my friends (both male and female) are feminists, and none of us fit into that stereotype.

While we're on generalizations, want to hear my stereotype about thread necromancers? Bet mine's closer than yours! :D
