Well, with it being almost five days since SB went down, what are your thoughts on the matter?

I can still get to it. Some of it doesn't work but it's still there. And there have been occasions when the main page was down. Yet the forums and such are still operating and they're the heart of Spacebattles now anyway.

It's still there. There's just a problem which prevents us from accessing it from certain paths. You can still reach it through a proxy.

Something amusing which happened during the downtime, Es apparently got banned for not posting to a closed thread.

Report for 209.197.238.148 (SB)

Analysis: IP packets are being lost past network "Time Warner Telecom TWTC-NETBLK-3" at hop 11. There is insufficient cached information to determine the next network at hop 12.

Can't get past this place.

They hate and fear us, and our sister group of ASVS. That is their weakness, and it will be their downfall.

So should we expect to see them en mass over here?

It's not gone completely. There's a router glitch at 66.162.99.2 that's preventing a lot of people from connecting. Several of us have pestered Kier Darby (he's the site admin for those who don't know) and the SB mods to fix it but he's doing a very good impression of being a hole in the ground. None of them have responded to any emails or PMs that I'm aware of.

The glitch has rendered all of Kier's forum sites and his for-profit renderfarm inaccessible to a fair portion of the net. I'm surprised the problem hasn't been fixed yet--it's probably costing him money.

[Big] Steve, if you're reading this: got any comments as to why the SB mod staff is staying utterly silent on this issue?

***Shhhh.****

'Borrowing' an open proxy is technically a form of hacking. Talk of hacking is a bannable offense.

Relax, guys. While I disagree with their moderating policies and there's a few morons who have made it their home, there's no reason to wish harm on the whole board.

Besides, if it went down for good, there are certain morons who would simply come here instead, and none of us want that.

Why? We could mount the with pride on the wall's of the Hall of Shame. And then run them off the 'net for good.

Somehow, I doubt it would be that simple.

Be that as it may, Alyeska is still an opponent of the glorious dictatorship of the Warsie Proletariat. He must die.
