I will be on the news, mwahaha

The
storm in my area earlier blew a shed of mine onto a neighbor's fence. This was apparently noteable enough for three, yes
THREE news stations to come to our little corner of the neighborhood and film it. (It must have been a slow news day.

)
Anyway, I got interviewed by FOX 35's Marissa (a cute Asian girl whose last name I did not catch). She was cordial, and seemed like a nice lady. I will be on TV at ten, assuming something interesting doesn't happen to fill the time slot.
All the stations got video of our shed, and the surrounding area. However, it is worth noting that only Marissa ASKED if she could do so. The folks from Channel Six (CBS, I believe) were nice enough though. The people from Channel Nine (ABC) were obviously scumbags though. Their attitude, and the way they conducted themselves when they thought no one could hear them... *shrugs*
This made my day.

I'll have something to talk about for a day or two at least.

"Well, you...ssee, the ssstorm blew...Mr. Freeman's... houssse, I mean, my ssshed... into the neighboring housse... we'll have to cleansse the placcce, I'm... afraid..."
Oh wait, you're not REALLY the G-Man.

*smiles* No, I'm not.
I'm rather annoyed at the quality my voice tends to take when I'm on TV... I don't sound that way normally, but something about TV... it makes me sound, in a phrase, "gayer than gay".
EDIT: The comment they used, out of the 5 minutes I was talking to them, was this: "I had already been out front to see the the.. lake *accidental chuckle* (:banghead:), so it wasn't very suprising to see my shed over there"

Gotta love it. Any pics of the cute Asian reporter?
Oddly enough, this didn't seem to hit us here in Tampa. Usually they seem to come across the state; did this one just go along the coast?

No. At least, none right now. My digital camera decided to screw up as soon as she showed up. My neighbors, however, took plenty of pictures with their camera, and I'll get 'em when they develop them.

From what little I've seen of the news reports, It seems to have come from the north somewhere and passed over Merritt Island/surrounding area.

I don't think they have to bother if it's public domain.

That'll happen with a big enough network affiliate. Either that or there's a lot of bad mojo down at that station.
Hey, maybe I'll see you this morning.

'Twas my backyard. But the gate was open and we were all staring at the shed anyway... it just seemed impolite to barge in and set up cameras, especially while were we right there.

*shrugs* The reporter seemed to embody, in my mind anyway, the stereotype of a cut-throat reporter, just looking for a good story to make him famous. He wasn't anywhere near friendly (until the cameras were on), and just had a certain look about him. Oh well. Maybe it was a bad day or something.

Maybe you will. But you work for MSNBC, don't you? (My interview was on FOX.) What, exactly, do you do that would show you, up there in New York, what happens in the local news stations down here? I've always been curious about the news hierarchy, from the local to national level.
EDIT: It's too late to be making posts. Lol. Uhh, ignore the lack of transition between sentences, especially on the last bit there.. reading it, it seems kind of random, with no real structure. Unless I'm just seeing things that aren't there because I'm tired.... Either way, I need to go to bed.

Well, aren't you just living up to your title, Lore Monkey?
She
is decidedly cute, though her mouth looks pretty big. But then, that's not a bad thing.
I envy Mitth for meeting such a woman in person.

Was the "lake" comment what you were referring to when you said that some reporters were scumbags, or was there something else?

Ah, you interviewed for FOX? I don't think we'll see it here at the MS then. We've been doing a lot of coverage of the bad weather situation out in the midwest and thought that Acquisitions might have acquired the rights to the footage. I work in graphics, but I do tend to see most of what makes it on air throughout the day.
Local news generally doesn't make it into national, though, unless it's a big enough story to warrant national attention. That's just a time thing.

Did you know the voice that we ourselves hear is quite different to what others hear?
The jaw vibrations distorts the sound.
So unless you have heard your voice over other electronic devices your voice is "gayer than gay".

Dude, you're a made man! Now all you have to do is convince FOX to buy the rights to your story and make a "When Sheds Attack" special!

I did not know that SecondStorm. But other electronic devices usually sound a lot better. *shrugs*
Gil.... lmfao. They might do it, too.
Dalton, I'm in the southeast, not the midwest. Oh well. *shrugs*
