Empire Gives Thumbs Up

This is why you wait for the proper DVDs coming out in the future and not the mediocre ones out now or in the near future.

Bah! Eurotrip (or whatever it was) Uncut has the Blockbuster Youth Restricted Viewing sticker! Does Kill Bill Uncut have that? :)

Kill Bill uncut isn't available yet in the United States.

No idea, if even that's the plan. This is a screener and not any type of DVD so the public domain final product may be in various guises, though it'd be nice if it was one DVD package.

It's rumored that there's going to be around a half dozen different editions by the time they're done milking it.

The fans with sense, however, will get the one that suits them. I personally want to see this uncut version and may buy that. Then I'm done. Unlike some who along with other big franchises like Evangelion and Alien release many different versions for the gullible to buy for that true completist feeling.

Sounds good. though I don't like the fact that the khan quote has been removed from the beginning.

That was the thing that re-assured me that this was going to be a good film.

Ah well...

You mean the 'ancient Klingon proverb' [and wasn't it from Chang, not Khan?].

Sorry if I'm thinking of the wrong thing, btw. :?

A question I've been meaning to ask about this film whilst we're on the subject ... what's with bleeping out the Bride's name? Or is my version faulty?

It's so you don't know her real name until the second volume.

There was a bleep in the second version as well I seem to recall, before it was revealed. Since I watched vol. 2 before vol. 1, I was rather confused by it. ;)

Beatrix Kiddo is such a silly name, especially after the buildup. It wouldn't have had the comic punch if they'd given it away in the first scene of the movie.

This is just beginnig to piss me off. First they release the bare-bones version, then after waiting till everyone has that, they release an even better version!

It seems like more and more companies are doing this with the movies they release...

No its by Khan, just before he attacks the Enterprise he says:

'Ah, Kirk. My old friend. Do you know the Klingon proverb that says revenge is a dish best served cold. Its very cold in space...'

Gotta love Khan...

Geebus, it's the oldest trick in the book!

Don't tell me you didn't honestly see that coming a mile off. They rely on gullible people buying one and then the other, and I know you ain't one of those people.

Lol, I'm actually thinking of the game, 'Klingon Academy', which features Chang. My mistake. :D

So? It is still really annoying. Especially since it means that you have to wait longer for the good edition.

Also, some companies are making them so that you have to buy the DVD multiple times to get all the extras or if you also want DTS. That's just wrong.

The consumers will consume them and the companies will keep raking in the profits and doing it. Short of a pandemic of common sense, there's not much you can do about it other than buy the version that suits you. Personally, I don't care for having a bazillion hours of commentary I won't listen to or cut out scenes that were crap, hence, cut out etc.

Bah, QT needs to film the Yuki's Revenge chapter that didn't make it into the final script and include that. That'll make it worth my dollar.
