I just got hired on with Sac County Office of Education as an Executive Assistant to the Superintedent.. The annual salary is $65,004.80 - $65,004.80 / Year plus fringe benefits up to a maximum of $376.01 per month (includes medical, dental, life insurance, vision, and tax sheltered annuity). To be honest, I am not sure why I was chosen for this. I have a degree in anthro, and I have been wrestling and working in a funeral home for the past few years. Anyway, I applied and got it! Hurray for me!

This is the American public education system we're talking about here. It doesn't surprise me at all that they would hire a wrestler/funeral home employee and anthro major to be a well-paid secretary. What surprises me is that they hired someone who isn't a total incompetant dumbass. Something funny must be going on. Congrats.

What else does one do with an anthro major?(aside from teach anthro) :)

Heh, congrats. I have an interview Tuesday at MSNBC for a staff position (I'm freelance now - no benefits, lots of overtime, but a 52 week contract...).

Hmm....

You wouldn't happen to be a zombie that's always followed around by a fat guy with a bad pun for a name, would you?

It's no big deal, I bet he's just never written "wrestler" and "work in a funeral home" in such close juxtaposition before.

 As much as I'd like to praise you, I'm having a coniption that the superintents executive assistant makes that salary. Please don't tell me that all he has graduate degree in education and makes $100,000+ a year.

You make more money than my BOSS, the WV State Registrar.

The pay for a Secretary III is only $20,000 here!!
I, as a Customer Service Rep., make only $18,500.

Congratulations man, that's not a bad salary for Sacraemento, although you are by no means wealthy. I'm probably going to pull down 66K this year but that includes rental income.

State employees are paid way more than their corporate peers in similar positions, plus you get better benefits. Nice move man, considering how poorly the state economy is doing.

Ah, but I have a good savings and my wife makes about the same as I make. Also, we have no kids. I am thinking about buying a hummer...

Holy crap, man. That's one highly paid secretary.

*grumbles about being paid half that*

Hmm...I dunno, there you could a nice house up near Folsom with the kind of income. Hehe, but if a Hummer makes you happy go for it. 120K with no kids is a damn, good income in Sac. Taxes are gonna be a pain though.
