What is the volume of your urinary bladder?

DP²'s most recent vent reminded me of this...

My bladder can hold a liter. I measured it once with a couple of half liter Sprite bottles.

I'm not sure of the capacity, but the pressure is so high that I can stand six feet away from a urinal and hit a precise spot on it.

Moral: Don't get into a pissing contest with me. :P

Pressure like that is pretty unhealthy, urine can backup into your kidneys and cause considerable damage to them over time.

Relatively small, if I've had a lot of fluid to drink I'll have to get up and go to the bathroom every few minutes. It's really embarrassing.

I've held it in 11 hours from from time of feeling like I needed to go to time of going. Haven't accually measured it before but have considered it.

Bad idea. Not only does that overstress the sphincter in the urinary tract, but for the reasons Skimmer mentioned it can screw you over. Urea in the blood is highly toxic and can cause kidney failure or brain damage among other things. When your body tells you to take a piss, you tend to need to.

It's such a vital toxin to remove that in the event of severe dehydration, the rest of the body and even brain will divert all available water sources to the bladder to remove the urea by making urine.

I've had the problem since I was a kid.
I *do* have to use the bathroom every 3 hours or so.

It's not that much, but I am not tempted in the least to measure it and see how little the amount actually is.

I've beaten the 1 quart container at the hospital when I was first diagnosed with diabetes....

Nearly a liter bottle of Mountain Dew's worth. I only found this out in one of those parking-lot backups on 695. I have to go pretty often, too. I used to blame that on the 6-8 cokes I'd drink a day, but since I've switched to water it seems I have to go even more often.

I can piss with full force for about a minute, I don't know what that equals to though.

I read somewhere the human stomach can hold 1 liter, and that was one of the reasons that the local 7-11 wasn't going to sell very well. They had recently introduced GIANT MUGS OF SLURPEE! They held 1.5-1.7 liters as I recall...I dunno about the bladder though. I would assume a little less than a liter? And Xalev, WTF is wrong with you?
