Seeing Alaska for less than 5 Altarian Dollars a day?

This whole US year thing is drawing to a close and I'm finishing it off with a trip to Anchorage for a few days, I get 4 daytimes and 3 nights as I'm flying out at midnight on the final day.

I have a few things lined up in my head, I've not had my license long enough for international driving, so I'm limited to the trains and buses. Am thinking of heading off to Prince William Sound for some ocean kayaking, have a hiking tour booked which I'm regretting now, and will spend the final day looking round Anchorage. This leaves me with one day to spare - and whilst I'm not planning on setting it in stone yet, I was hoping to get anyone's personal thoughts on what I'd have to be daft to not see whilst I'm in Alaska - bearing in mind that I can't afford to go flying around airport to airport.

Anyone's thoughts, much appreciated - there's so much stuff online, it's difficult to know whether there's anything that I should definately make time to see or not.

Fishing in Homer. You'll catch so many Halibut that you'll have enough to eat for years. Plus its just plain good fun.

Also, those cruises where you go out for the day to see icebergs are kind of fun.
