Locking Jeeps

Post by Boyish-Tigerlilly »

Is it worth locking the doors on your jeep if you have a softtop with unzipable windows?

I have lock compartments, but I am talking about so the car is "harder" to steal. Its seems very easy to just go through the windows when no one is ooking.

Yes. It makes it easier to booby-trap the car in such a manner that wannabe theives will get some electroshock therapy to deal with their kleptomaniacy but you can get in and out without any trouble.

I say its not. My sister has one and the truth is there's no wat to keep anyone out of those cars. SO the way she see's it, and I agree, is that if she leaves it unlocked the worst that can happen is that some of her stuff gets stolen, if she locks it the same thing will happen plus the roof or window or soemthing else will be cut with a razor or knife.

Lock it any way because insurance can raise hell if it's stolen and was left unlocked. A friend of mine a few years back had it happen and they wound up in a nasty little fight with their insurance.

Plus, there's the simple fact that it will deter at least some lazy, stupid theives.

It takes alot longer to crawl over the top or open up the cover if done properly than simply opening up the side door. AT the very least you'll slow down some potential thieves and have a chance for someone to catch them in the act rather than letting them have free reign.
