Does anyone here NOT use IM?

Whilst I have many IM accounts, these are all many years old and I only ever go on my MSN account to see if a certain individual of my 20 or so contacts is online.

I used to find IM'ing fun and entertaining, but now, I can't be arsed for some reason. Maybe it's just I don't have anything interesting to say? :?

Anyway, many people here seem to have IM accounts. Do any people not use IM?

Does idling on IRC servers count as a form of IM? If so, I think you'll find no Net regular is without one.

Yeah IRC and chat rooms [If anyone still goes in those things] count in my books as IM'ing.

Well, not to insult Mike too badly...but he seems to lack a 'Net personality. Atleast a nice one. I imagine he is a great guy IRL though...I hope :?

I do, and use it a lot, but for me it's just a tool to talk to people, not a different world. Not falling into that trap again

No IM for me, too.
I prefer to lay low. Not counting here, though.

I've been using IM so long my ICQ number has only six digits. 8)

I can't remember the last time I used any IM client. I have AIM on my machine, but chatting online just doesn't do much for me. I need to actually be speaking to someone, either on the phone or in person. WHat might take 20 minutes of chat I can figure out in 5 seconds of hearing someones voice. The harmonics and overtones tell me more about someone's state of mind than pages of words.

I guess I only really use IMs for when a phone call won't work, like keeping in touch with friends overseas and the like.

Hell, I barely use the PM system here. I've sent two PMs in the last 3 months.

heh, I'm much better live :)

The SDnet AIM chatroom is still open and working to all those who wish to use it.

I use AIM/MSN. Mostly just chat to people from here.

Aside from that, all of my RL friends are online less and less.

I only go on when I need to tell someone something important or to see who's there, then I close it.

I only use AIM to occasionally join the SDnet chat (like I'm doing now. There's a lot of people on right now) or to have people upload stuff to me.

IRC, however, I use a lot. To download stuff, of course. :)

I also have a few ICQ contacts, but almost no activity really.

Add yourself to you buddy list.

Then right click on your name and invite yourself to chat.

Set the room as "SDNet".

I have Yahoo's messenger for talking to a few people, MSN sits there with me on busy most of the time cos I'm too lazy/anti-social/working etc to talk to anyone, and that's about it.
