It seems that F1 fans are noticing there is something rotten in the Kingdom of F1 Racing,so do anyone here think the races are scripted like wrestling?
Since the race where Michael Schumaker's partner was told to let MS win the race,i'm convince that all races in F1 are arranged.

Nah. When the crashes happen you can't predict who will get taken out.

the teams may be able to control who finishes ahead of who for their two drivers but apart form that .... nah

I don't think its fixed. Just crap.

Fixed? Nah. But there are things like Team Orders as to who has to finish first if there is a choice.

Still, with Ferrari and Schumacher dominating it all as it is right now, F1 has become boring.

Of course not. How would one go about scripting something like a tyre blow-out or an engine failure?

Team orders are years old, and a perfectly accepted part of F1.

Mind you, the whole ethos of F1 is to apply technology within a carefully "scripted" set of construction rules in an attempt to "script" the essentially random.

Hell yeah, I stopped watching it because the same guy was always winning. MotoGP is much better anyhow.

There is a huge difference between one-team members being told to let his partner win and some grand conspiracy to fix all the races. In fact I think making such an assumption on that basis is just fucking stupid. The fact that people are bored by the fact that the same guy always wins and that F1 attendance and viewership is down is another torpedo in to the "its rigged" concept. You rig races to make money not to lose vast amounts of it.

As it is F1 is going to get that economy driven rules rewrite where it wants it or not, there's no other way to make up for losing all that tobacco adverting money. I expect that will make things a lot more interesting. Hopefully relaxing some technical regulations while tightening others will also help restore F1 to its proper place of developing new technology.

Of course it isn't scripted--they let Rubens pull ahead for the win because Ferrari was going to win either way, and Michael was already so far ahead of everyone else that he didn't need that victory. Besides, I saw the race you're referring to and Rubens won by a couple hundreths of a second, so it's not like Michael pulled over to the side of the track to wave Rubens over the line.

And even with Ferrari winning so much, it's still a hell of a lot more interesting to watch than Nascar. Bleh.

'Team Orders' have been around for a loooooong time before Barichello was told to let Shumi past (Coultard slowing down at the first Melbourne F1 ring any bells?), but that is neither here nor there, and is hardly ever employed.

F1:
The race lasts for about 60 rounds, and Michael "The Chin" Schumacher wins.

Quite boring.
The only fun thing to observe is who'll be second after him, when the McLarenMercedes will blow up, and who'll Montoya be kicking out of the race.

Is Nascar the one where they just go round a big oval about a hundred times?

I've actually read the F1 technical regulations (year 2002) ... fucking scary shit man.

Thought so. Does anyone have some reason to watch that apart from the crashes?

Some people like the fact that there's a lot of passing, probably more then in any other major racing league and a couple tricks like drafting are key to winning.
