...and they're everywhere. Even places that don't normally fly flags have them up and at half mast, like apartment complexes and grocery stores. I don't think I've ever so many flags in my life. Not for Memorial Day, July 4th, 9/11, Veterans Day, hell, even Flag Day! It'll be a long time before another American president polarizes the world like that again.
Think I'll fly my flag for The Gipper too.
I've never seen so many flags at half mast...

US Presidents, espically ones a vast number of people liked to the end don't die everyday. Special days are different, there are a lot of them for starters and they come around every year so the impact is much less.

hasn't been anything like this since Kennedy. LBJ was even more reviled than Nixon, his 1973 funeral was also quiet. Ronnie on the other hand actually carried the majority of BOTH political parties in some states. Many people of my generation view him as a grandfatherly figure.RedX wrote:A comparatively quiet one in California. He was, after all, a crook. Nothing like this, certainly.Trytostaydead wrote:What type of funeral did Nixon get? I forget already..
