This is terrible, I hope no one plays him singing Georgia On My Mind on the radio or news. I don't think I'd be able to hold back the tears.

I was wondering how long before we lost this legend of music as well...

Just saw this on CBC. The man was a legend, and it seems time is catching up to some American icons. Rest in Peace.

He was one of my favorite artists of all time. Right up there with the Beatles. My favorite song by him was his rendition of "America, The Beautiful". We will all surely miss as he is an influance to all generations of rock artists since the 60's.

Damn... Famous people just seem to be dropping like flies this last little while, first Richard biggs, then Reagan, now this...

Unfortunately, all the horrible musicians AREN'T dying. When the fuck is Britney Spears going to croak? In 50 years? 60? 70? Ever, with the progression of medical technology? Fucking fuck. The good ones are going and the bad ones are staying for EVER.

More of an Off Topic news announcement than one that belongs in a political news forum. So I moved.

*drops a dime in the jukebox for old times sake.
Georgia, Georgia,
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
I'm say Georgia
Georgia
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pines
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you
I said Georgia,
Ooh Georgia, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you
Georgia,
Georgia,
No peace, no peace I find
Just this old, sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
I said just an old sweet song,
Keeps Georgia on my mind
Rest in peace Ray.

God rest his soul.
He really was a great artist. My mom and grandma were huge fans, and i liked almost all of the songs by him i've heard, especially Georgia On My Mind. He'll be missed.

This has been a terribly depressing week. First Reagan, then Ray Charles. This rather sucks.

We lost Johnny Cash recently, now Ray Charles. All the greats are leaving us.

I miss him.
And Jon Lee Hooker.
