Sports (this title is deceiving)

If you could describe one person on this board as a sportsman/woman, what sport would you choose for them? You can't choose yourself, either.

For example, if I were to pick Kelly Antilles, I would have to say Volleyball or Soccer. Or, if I picked Darth Wong, I'd have to say hockey. Or, If I picked Mr Bean, I'd have to say football. This is what their personalities convey to me; you might have different opinions. So, what would you choose for who? (Should that be "whom"?)

When you say football, do you mean real football or that "sport" using a round checkered ball in which nobody ever scores?

Well, considering A) I'm American, and B) I referred to Kelly as soccer, thn by all means, I must mean American football...I should have stated this before...oops....

ANd besides, I happen to like soccer, that really isn't fair.

Wong a hockey player? Huh. I can't see that for some reason. He strikes me as more of a tennis/badminton/fencing kind of guy. One on one combat.

The one guy I could pin down would be Bean. He's got "Hi, I'm a paintball player" written all over him. And yes, that is a sport!

Hrm....tennis does seem to be more fitting. It's mostly the KABOOM of his replies thjat made me think hockey. Heh heh...paintball...that could work for either Wong OR Bean....

I do too. It's a great sedative.

Then I see him as more of a bare-knuckle boxer. Fight Club style.

Mike is a chess player. Period. Although, McEnroe style tennis is possible.

Lagmonster - rugby
verilon - soccer
Iggy - basketball
Bean - rugby/american football/australian rules football
Stormbringer - snowboarding
Shep - skeet with live targets
Eleas - soccer or tennis or lacrosse

I'll post more when I think of them.

I've never been snowboarding in my life. I'm a skier.

My real favorite "sports" are mountain biking and sailing. We've got a lot of overgrown dunes back in Muskegon that make for really good mountain biking. And all the lakes around there are large enough for small boat sailing.

Verilon...hmm... this becomes hard because I actually know him in RL... I suppose his pent up whatever could probably best be relieved by playing paintball... so I'll say Paintball

I've been asked to play that. Also hockey and american football. Though normally they say, "Hey, Lag! That guy over there is going to try to run by you in a minute. Could you, you know, just kind of stand in his way and make him fall down? That'd be great. Thanks."

As for hockey, my problem with that is clear: They told me that I'd have to go somewhere really cold, perch myself up on two thin strips of metal, and then RUN on those thin strips of metal over SLICK ICE. I just had to laugh at the obvious balance issue I was going to have if I tried that. I then suggested helpfully that perhaps we could just play football on stilts in the mud instead, since it would be about as easy.

Though in real life, the only sporting things I do are horizontal jogging and fencing (bet you didn't see THAT one coming).

Big German = Rugby. But I know what you mean about the "standing in the way". My husband has been asked to do that before. I've done that before, actually. Well, the running into part. *heh* Guy was about 6'6", solid wall. I bounced.

Goalie. You just move in a small area, most of which you'd take up with your size. But, you're really too tall to play hockey.

German... fencing. Goes quite well in fact.

horizontal jogging... as opposed to vertical jogging? :P

Can't argue with that. I'm too disoriented on a field. Whenever I try running one way and looking the other way with my hands out to catch a ball, I pretty much invariably end up running into/over/through something.

Resulting in, I am certain, wild and sustained applause from the fans, depending on the distance, amount and type of referenced bouncing in question? *laugh*

I always liked the fluidity and speed of the sport, but I'm essentially a walking target. If the foils were actual swords, I'd be Lagmonster Puree. I remember when we used to get wacky and duel with twenty-pound wooden replicas of the sword Cloud used in Final Fantasy Seven.
Horizontal jogging... as opposed to vertical jogging? :P
I was actually implying a completely different activity, but that's okay too.

Your penchance for violence. Hockey is a cool sport, anyway.

And I prefer chocolate pudding. ;)

BASKETBALL? Boy, you sure got a wrong number there. I mean come on, I'm aggressive, I hit hard, I like to hurt people, I'm a FOOTBALL player! Defensive line, three years. I finally dropped out because of my second concussion. B-ball's fun, but I'll take football any day.

ROFL, true enough. I'm 5'8" IRL, so I'm at a disadvantage in basketball, and it's obvious whenever I play. In football, however, the opposing QB had better watch out for a human missile-me.

I've earned the nickname "Death" twice in my life at school. I earned the first one for knocking three QBs out of comission in one season.
