In 1925 Coca Cola made a lucky watch fob in the shape of a swastika
with the slogan, "Drink Coca Cola five cents in bottles". When I phoned
the Coke Archives in Atlanta, Georgia they denied even having one
in their collection.
The Edmonton girls' hockey team is from 1916 and predates the Nazi party.
I have photos of three Canadian Hockey Teams called the Swastikas.
The swastika was the coat of arms used by Rudyard Kipling in all his
books up until 1933 when the Nazis gained power. For Kipling it
meant Beauty, Force, Originality and Insight
Here's a cool shot of Jackie Bouvier who later became Jackie Kennedy.
Judging by the cars in the background this has to be the Thirties.
Don't know if this is Campfire Girls or just a chance masquerade in
native dress?
Have I screwed your precious minds up yet?

All you need now is a pre-war 45th Infantry Div. picture. Their official emblem was a Swastika, obviously changed.

I can:
"In the USSR:
In 1951-1955 the construction of city and village schools will increase by about 70% compared to the previous Five-Year Plan.
In the USA:
1% of the budget is spent on education and 74% on military expenditures. Over 10 million people in the USA are illiterate; over one third of school-aged children are not attending any school."
The sign in front of the US school says: "School Closed"
+1 post.

Well, one thing you can say for communist countries, they've got good education systems.

Only in sciences and math. They suck at humanities.
+1 post.

You know the swastika wasn't a creation of the nazis, nor a bad think until the nazis used it. It's just a rune, a symbol used for thousands of years in one way or another, it means a lot of different things different ways its written, like the coke one isn't at an angle, so it means something completely different from the one used by the nazi. I've also seen them in or on a cross, niether of them being remotely negative meanings.

The Solviet Union had to build that many schools because they had so few to start with. Per student, not total, the USA had a much better ratio. The total figure is misleading, as the Solviet Union had and has a much larger total population.
Example:
The purple peoples population is 1 billion.
The green peoples popuation is 10 million.
The purple people have 1 million people in jail.
The green people have 100,000 people in jail.
The purple people have 10 times the number of people in jail than the green people.
Does this mean the purple people are more likely to be in jail than the green people?
No, per capata, the green people have ten times the number of people in jail.
See how this works?
USSR was playing catch up.
The best way to lie, is to tell the truth in a deceptive manner.
Free countries' headlines are full of problems and crime.
Countries with controled presses never talk about problems and crime.
Therefore free counties have more problems and crime?
Or we just don't hear about them?

I'm sure WW2 museums pay alot for those kinds of prewar posters.
