They cant even park properly in the parking spaces anymore.....GAWD it was irritateing.......WHY? WHY? WHY? And please dont give me "they are safer" crap...i dont buy it.

I agree, having worked in a tire shop I had to drive everything from dinky Acuras and Geo Trackers (which was possessed by a flamboyently homosexual couple [everything frilly, smell of prefume, and I even found lube... ::gouges out mental eye::]) to Ford F-350 Diesal trucks. It is a pain in the ass to drive those large vehicles, to park them is near imposible, and to work on them is a pain in the ass too (3 gallons of oil and a 10" oil filter on one that I worked on.) Stupid big vehicles.

It's every American's right to drive giant vehicles while paying massive gasoline prices. Actually, my wife drives the Chevy Trailblazer, while I get to drive the tiny Mitsubishi Mirage, but then us married folks understand how such things work. On the other hand, we did trade down from a Dodge Ram long bed (which was difficult for which to find parking).

I couldn't agree with you more. Those things are a menace. They're worse than putting an AK-47 in Shep's hands. They don't look where they're going as they put on their makeup, eat breakfast, drink their coffee, talk on the phone and smoke a cigarette. AND their left arm is broken because they NEVER USE A FUCKING TURN SIGNAL!

Our family currently has a Toyota Corolla and a Ford Expedition. The latter is used to haul cargo around, or to carry my family and grandparents on trips.

In fact, I saw I think either Hard Copy or 60 Minutes showed evidence that they aren't safer at all. In fact they're more dangerous. In fact it's been also proven that all the security norms applied to normal vehicles don't apply to SUVs because some SUV manufacturer gave some important person a shitload of money to "look the other way".

1) Bad gravity center: turn too fast and you end up upside down.
2) Unsafe cockpit: a frontal crash and you'll be split in two by the panel + steering wheel.

A friend of mine died while driving a truck. He hit a post and it cut the car (and him) in two like butter (normal cars have reinforced cockpits so even if the car is made out of recycled aluminum cans, under ideal circumstances the passengers have a chance of surviving by not getting crushed.

Also there's something like a law saying that the cost of repairing a car from slight damage (meaning probably just straightening up the bumpers or so) shouldn't cost more than x percent of the vehicle or whatever, and that while regular cars are required to comply to this rule, SUVs are not, and in fact most of them cost a lot to repair the slightest damage.

Watch that reportage (?) it was very good.

Larz, you'll never have to worry about that from me! This gay American is partial to smaller sport-carish cars (ie, Civics and Vipers and Mustangs and whatnot)!!!
